Top & Skirt : H&M // Sandals : Mimosa // Ring : Swarosvki

Ventured to this beautiful quasi local cafe just around the corner from my place called "The Tuckshop." The name in itself immediately drew us in as it sounded very nostalgic.  Setup by 3 friends ( a French, Italian and a local) over a pint of beer, The Tuckshop was aimed at providing that contemporary social space that brought both expats and locals together which was more than your typical watering hole.

The menu items was quite a fusion of both east and west items. Feeling hungry and wanting to try out everything on the menu, we decided to start off with their Snack sampler which comprised of our local version of what carrot cake is topped with a spicy sauce, crispy chicken wings, crispy and crunch crackling roast pork and mozzarella cheese stuffed donut. What more can we ask for to kick off the palate with!!

My son's favourite has got to be their mushroom linguine done in an Aglio Olio style. Just remember to mention not to add any chilli if its for kids as we did not realise it came pretty spicy but he loves his spice so it was all good.

My husband obviously went for the burger of which he enjoyed every last morsel of this plate!

** Do note that " The Tuckshop" change their menu items regularly.to provide a variety of dining options for their guests. The items sampled above were available at the time of our visit.

Back to my outfit, since the venue of our dining experience was a quaint one, hence I decided to recycle an old top from my wardrobe with a different pairing. You may check out this top in an earlier post here!

Bringing myself back to retro style, I kept accessories close to minimum and let the outfit speak for itself being a retro styled print skirt with my ruffle top. The loud and bold colours certainly was a nice match against the retro styled homes at the back of the alley where the restaurant was.

Snooping around, I found a spiral staircase leading to a rooftop dining area and had to document it on this post as well. I love how these old architectural style buildings are still kept in pretty good condition in Singapore.

Hope you will have the chance to check out The Tuckshop the next time you are in Geylang!

Love,
Simone xoxo
