Welcome 2019 !!

Dress : Bless'ed Are The Meek ( Style Theory) // Shoes : Bershka //

Hello 2019 !! So, how did you guys welcome in the new year?

Having stayed away from traditional Christmas colours during Christmas 2018, I decided for the new year to showcase this beautiful and classic red Inception dress from "Bless'ed Are The Meek". I love the theatrics of the sleeves and the dress length was just right for me. A classic cut and style, this dress was the perfect New Year outfit for me. Coincidentally, I also found online this similar dress under the label of Elliat which you may have noticed me trending recently ( see posts here & here)

I paired it with glitter shoes and a silver clutch, as well as statement accessories to add that new year glamour touch to the outfit.

What is your new year resolution? 2018 was a tough year for me so I hope that 2019 will bring us only good news. A healthy and happy year for all those around me. Certainly looking forward to a year where I can build on more collaborations and make a change to the world.

Wishing you the very best and a great start to 2019!

Love,
Simone xoxo

Lady in Red

Red is the colour of the week - both for Valentines, and for the Lunar New Year. This pretty and comfortable dress from H&M fits the bill. Here I styled it for the Lunar New Year visitations where according to tradition and customs, the younger generation spend the day visiting the elders of the family and friends to pay their respects and offer well wishes and gifts. This lovely red camera bag from Gamiss  was indeed a nice touch to complete the look.

Slip on mules were the perfect footwear to pair with this outfit, as it is easy to slip in and out of when entering people's homes. As you know here in Asia, we do remove our footwear when entering people's homes as a sign of respect and I guess it's more hygenic that way too. The loose fitting dress style gives the allowance for me to eat and enjoy all the goodies without watching my waistline too much as opposed to traditional chinese cheongsam.

Tassels are everywhere - in decorations, packaging for gifts etc and so I opted for these tassel earrings to complete my outfit and ring in the new year.

These lovely cookies and treats from The Peranakan were the perfect gifts for friends and relatives. I particularly love how they managed to package the goodies in typical peranakan style and colours.

As they say in asia - " Huat Ah" which means " Prosperity and Success"!
