Hi everyone.

Hope you are in the heat of the festivities. Although Christmas Day has come and gone so quickly, but do not forget, it's a whole 12 days of Christmas and many are still at the height of rejoicing and celebrating this season of giving and sharing and coming together.

Another year gone, another year older... I start to realise my sense of fashion, choices of clothing is changing. Hopefully for the better but I am definitely less into trending skirts above the knee, showing off my legs but rather choosing options that are more classic and versatile.

This @freepeople  dress which is last season's if I am not mistaken still holds it's attraction for me with it's beautiful criss cross back detailing that is sexy in its own right. I love the fact that it's 100% cotton and with this dress again, one can be versatile styling it both elegantly ( as I have done in my shots) or even casually as a beach dress or on a hot summer's day.

Some of these shots were taken recently during my trip to Da Nang, Vietnam of which we stayed at the beautiful @intercontinentaldanang resort which boasts beautiful views being set up on a slope of a mountain as well as a resort which one does not even need to venture out to have a good time. From water sport activities, choices of swimming pools, spa as well as great options for dining, I was just going crazy trying to take it all in. Let's not even start on the wild monkeys that literally hang out with you on your patio.

Well I will feature more of this resort in the upcoming blog posts but in the meantime, here's wishing all of you a healthy, peaceful New Year 2020 that will only bring you blessings and love.

See you next year,
Simone xoxo

Plain, simple with clean lines were never really my cup of tea when it comes to my fashion sense. If you have been following me for awhile, you will realise I am a person who loves textures, patterns, non structured lines  and more so colours. and unique touches to an outfit. It had to be something that stood out on its own. However as I always preach, Fashion is all about experimenting and sometimes diverging away from our set and comfortable sense of style. To try a new trend, to work a new style...

And so this time, having what I would deem as a demure Japanese style where clothing items are often subdued, clean and pretty earthly in terms of colour, I got myself a couple of pieces from The Editor's Market  whose shopping catalogue is pretty much in line with this type of style. I wanted to try something different and the outfits ( majority of them anyways) look very comfortable for me to knock around in on a regular school day running between errands, school, walking the dogs, grocery shopping and perhaps sneaking in a quick cuppa with a girlfriend. To be honest I was getting sick of the t-shirt and jeans / culottes / shorts combo.

I love this comfortable Ilisa Bib Dress and I particularly chose a light and easy to match colour this time to see how I can work this simplified look. It was not really me - not loud enough, not flamboyant enough and certainly not " outstanding" enough in my terms but I tried to bring this outfit up a notch with my hat and kept the look a little fun  with my animal print slides - all keeping within the earthy tone of this outfit. Of course the model online paired it with ankle boots which was a nice funky touch but certainly not for me in a 35 degree heat!

I must say it was very very comfortable and perhaps having ordered from them online for the first time, I  was not too sure on their sizing and so perhaps a size smaller in future would be more fitting however donning a tank top underneath to maintain my modesty ( "clearing throat....") it was a nice touch to keep it casual. I intentionally did not want to add a belt in order to keep the look real, wide and comfortable as it should be but perhaps seeing its in a size up for my liking, I would certainly style this dress in a different way soon the next time I put it on ( so watch this space).

Overall, my take on this new style of mine is free and easy and certainly a nice Spring outfit to trend.
Hope you enjoyed this look and post.

Love,
Simone xoxo

White & Sultry :: Midi Stripe Dress + Long Woollen Coat

Happy weekend everyone!

Another great find during a sale. Found this midi ribbed spaghetti strap dress which was suppose to be an addition to my summer outfits waiting for the sun to shine to get pulled out of the closet. But I could wait no longer. So styled this for the first time in a very different setting.

Feeling a little sultry with this look ( for some funny reason), and wanting to create a different feel to my pictures, I went for a pretty monochromatic colour theme to this post and playing with poses I had never done before.

One Trend You Need in 2017 :: Long Sleeve Midi Dress

Hi everyone,

My favourite dress style that seems to work all year round ( in different textures) -  the Long Sleeve Midi dress, is the one dress style you should trend for 2017. A versatile dress style and a favourite amongst celebrities for 2017. this is the one look you need. Even Victoria Beckham was inspired trending this dress style for her SS2017 collections.

I found this midi rib dress during an H&M sale and the earthy Burgundy tone just had me at " hello".

To be honest, I picked up this dress whilst out shopping with my son. As everyone knows, kids hate being dragged around from store to store. So with the constant bugging " Mom, can you please hurry up....mom can you please hurry up....." I just grabbed this off the rack seeing it had such a " future" and without trying it for fit, just rung it up at the cashier. After all it did have a big red label on the price tag!!

Thinking I am used to H&M sizing chart what could go possibly wrong, and there I set off a happy gal. But when I got home, it somehow literally hung on me like a potato sack - a little wider at the neckline and certainly just a full straight on drape down the length of my body. A little disappointed at first, I badly wanted to style this dress and of course with money spent it just had to be worn ( at least once perhaps!). Love the sleeves which was a little flare at the cuffs. So ended up belting the dress and wearing it slightly off shoulder on one side and voila.... this is the look today.

An easy look to wear to work and perfect match with my Berry Red Ankle Booties and Goyard St. Louis. Threw on a coat for cooler mornings and evenings and wore it with High Cut Leather boots for colder days. Alternatively check out Victoria Beckham styling a similar rib dress from her collection below but layering with a striking coloured shirt underneath for cooler days.

Before I sign off, here are some of my favourite Long Sleeve Midi Dress styles from Victoria Beckham's SS 2017 Collection. Enjoy !
