Baywatch :: Turquoise Bikini +Two Piece Swimwear Guide

A good weekend to all of you !

Finally back to Hong Kong and just recovering from the time difference from travelling from the West to East again! Sorry for the silence whilst I was travelling but things are now back on track again. How has your Summer been so far?

Missing for sure the Florida sunshine, sea and sand !So here is another Swimwear post just for me to rekindle the recent holiday trip.

For those of you who know me well, this is certainly the FIRST time I have ever posted myself in a 2 piece swimwear!! It's been a scary ride as I had mentioned in my previous swimwear post - to get myself into a bathing costume and not look like a whale !It has been quite a daunting experience, yet after 9 years not being in a Bikini, I thought " what the heck... who cares anyway...." so here it is for all to see!

I bought this Gottex Bikini whilst on holiday and I must say it's such a beautiful swimwear. Comfortable and fits me perfectly. No nipping at the bust, no riding up of the bikini bottom and the fact that it has a detachable halter strap allows me to sunbathe without a halter bikini line to show.

Love the turquoise hue as it's bold, bright and different. As I had mentioned before, am starting to go for bolder colours instead of dark, navy or black this time for a whole new ME!

Love the gold detailing for the front brooch and back clasp instead of regular plastic clips. Certainly worth every penny for this swimsuit. Just makes it so much more elegant.

Obviously quite embarress still showing so much skin, hence borrowed my son's wakeboard for some "coverage" whilst taking these shots!

So my dear friends, if I can do it so can you!!! Just be brave and put on that 2 piece and rock your summer holidays!! Don't forget there are so many varied styles of 2 piece swimwears, some with waist high bottoms so you will feel more "covered" if I can put it that way, to make that gradual progression away from one piece swimsuits.

Enjoy these Top Ten Bikini Styles I have put together for you to inspire you for your next shopping trip.

Enjoy bikini shopping and mix and matching your tops and bottoms for a new look each time you head out to the waters.

Boho Jumpsuit :: Bustier Jumpsuit + Silver Accents

Wednesday, July 15, 2015 Simone - Your Style Architect 8 Comments

Greetings from Sunny Florida!

Enjoying every moment of this trip before we head back home shortly. Got this jumpsuit whilst on vacation here from Band of Gypsies. Have been eyeing more boho chic items whilst out shopping this time. A versatile jumpsuit which one can easily pair it up or down with varied accessories. This time I decided to trend it casual.

Took these pictures outside our home in Florida and it was sweet of the US Postal lady to stop her van to give me a clear shot of the background before heading her way to deliver the daily mail!

Love the blue and white pattern on this jumpsuit, which you can easily mix and match different coloured accessories for different looks to trend this outfit. The bustier style top with adjustable straps was perfect to make it as comfortable as possible so that the waistline doesn't ride up too high unlike other jumpsuits that tend to fit the body shorter and the legs longer. For a more sophisticated look, I would trend it with a nice pair of heels or booties even and tuck in the shoulder straps. Cinch the waist with a thicker belt and voila, a totally new look with the same outfit taking you from day to night!

Certainly love taking photos here in Florida as compared to back in Hong Kong, as the sunlight tends to bounce off buildings, plants etc with a warm touch and just the whole look and feel of the pictures is just so different. The shade of blue for the skies and the vibrant hues of the flowers and foliage is just so beautiful.

Keeping accessories simple and the look somewhat casual. Paired it with this layered drape chain belt which could easily double up as a layered necklace. My whole intention was to go boho chic. This would be an ideal outfit to take along on trips over summer as the jumpsuit need not be ironed whilst on the go, and the accessories could be used in several ways.

Floridian Sunshine :: One Piece Swimwear +Swimsuit Styles for Plus Sizes

Tuesday, July 07, 2015 Simone - Your Style Architect 6 Comments

Hello from Sunny Florida everyone !

Finally after a couple of days of waking, eating and sleeping at unearthly hours, am finally back on track on US time zone and so here is the first of my vacation posts.

Been catching up on romantic movies the last couple of days since I was like the walking dead - wide awake at 3am in the morning. Particularly movies like The Lake House, It's Complicated and The Holiday. Getting that warm, fuzzy, lovey feeling and so whilst I am writing this post, am playing the soundtracks from these movies in the background for mood and inspiration. Just love Hans Zimmer and his works....

I have been wearing one piece swimsuits or tankinis for the longest time. Probably prior to the birth of my son which was at least 9 yrs ago as I have never regained the full confidence to trending bikinis since getting pregnant. It's actually not that bad afterall given there are so many varied styles and options of swimwear out there these days.

I figured with all my physical flaws from motherhood, choosing the right swimsuit to " hide" and redivert attention away from problem areas is the way to shop for that perfect swimwear, rather than just following fashion blindly and going for styles that may not fit your body type. Hands up those who agree with me!!................... YES... I knew it!!

Got this purple one piece swimsuit online which had ruching just across the tummy area which helps to create a textured effect and therefore " diminish" the rounded or bulging tummy which most of us would often gripe about being our main problem area. Normal women if I may say....

It's all about working with the right detailing to "cover" our flaws. So look out for fringes, ruching, criss cross patterns, stripes, color blocking, optical illusion styles... which are all key to helping you create an illusion of a slimmer waistline.

Colours is another key factor when choosing the right swimwear. I use to go for colours that are darker like black or navy seeing that it's suppose to help one look slimmer, but this time ended up with a bright Royal Purple. Going bolder I must say... but certainly having fun getting out of my comfort zone - which I do highly recommend for some fun!

The fun part about swimwears is that you have so many varied ways of styling them with accesories and cover ups to add a fresh touch to the same piece for the whole of summer. Here above, I have styled my swimsuit with a Gim Renoir scarf which is over 30 yrs old with bold colours and a jungle print of a Cheetah with full accent on the Royal Purple colour.

Whilst a mini crochet band skirt with a matching straw hat would do the trick for heading out to the beach as well ( as seen below).

Whilst taking these shots, my Mother in law who is well into her 80s decided to join me for a laugh and we had fun taking some shots together. Here's one to share with you guys.

As promised, I came across some of these great one-piece swimwear styles online which I would love to get my hands on to trend in this summer!! So go have fun trending your one piece swimsuits this Summer and do share with me which is your favourite style.
