Check It Out :: Plaid & Checkered Shawl and Cap

Happy Sunday everyone,

An easy casual look for Winter. I do not own many plaids and checks items in my wardrobe, however this scarf was a beautiful gift that could lift the colours of any outfit. It just reminds me so much of the kilts that the Scottish wear and such a cute pattern to mix and match with.

To funk up the whole look, I paired it with this plaid cap for that slight edgy touch.

Check or Plaid scarves are the hottest style of scarves to get for this Winter. I particularly love the fact that this scarf was layered in its style - something slightly different. Like different check scarves all weaved and sewn together to create one exciting piece.

I hope you enjoyed this quick outfit post. See you soon and thanks for visiting.

Berry Fun :: Burgundy Overalls + Berry Accents

Hello December and Happy Weekend to all of you!

As the weather starts to get cooler, and everyone starts getting busy preparing for the festive holidays, I am starting to feel nostalgic. I especially love the smell of Christmas. Strong whiffs of cranberry and spicy apples fill the air when you step into the malls. In the grocery stores, strong scents of nutmeg and cinnamon and mulled wine linger in the air...

So here I am, out and about in the back alleys of Sai Kung in Hong Kong finally getting a chance to explore the quaint shops and took the opportunity to capture couple of pics.

Recently, I tried deviating a little out of my comfort zone in terms of dress styles and started purchasing a few overalls / dungarees. Particularly loved this wine berry / Burgundy number from Bershka.

The coloured backdrop was so captivating which was too good not to be missed and captured digitally!

Was at Zara the other day and these lovely boots was screaming out my name!! I like the mirror touch on the heels and was pleasantly surprised they are such a comfy pair of boots to walk in. Not forgetting, a perfect match to this outfit.

Funny enough, I seem to have many a Burgundy/ Wine coloured accessories in my wardrobe collection. Pulled them all out to complete the look. The hat, the crossbody bag... and kept the accessories little and simple ( as usual!).

Have yourself a great first weekend of December!

Love,
Simone xoxo

Aztec Culture : Two Piece Aztec Print Outfit + Grey Winter Hat

Brr.....it is indeed getting colder now. As you can see from the view behind, it is foggy and miserable these last couple of days...so needed a little pick me up with my new hat which I got from Zara Home!! YES !!! They do sell accessories as well. Was completely surprised but a girlfriend wore hers and I said " I gotta have it", and at a steal of a price as well as with  a " MADE IN ITALY" tag instead of the usual "made in china", how could I not?

Aztec prints is definitely fun to trend this Fall, especially when top to toe print outfits / looks is the IN trend for Fall / Winter 2014. So imagine my blissful happiness when I stumbled across this 2 piece crop top skirt suit from a boutique in one of our local malls in the area. Can you believe it? Comfy and slightly stretchable, this ( what I would think is some sort of cotton) outfit was only less than US$ 20! Didn't bother to try it in the fitting room and kept fingers cross it'll fit. Lo and behold!! Another great buy!

I do love crop tops but find it very difficult to style / trend them. You probably would have noticed I have not posted much outfits in this style since I am so conscious about my tummy area and believe me - I have no "washboard toned" tummy to show off. So finding the right length for a crop top was ideal. This one just barely skimmed the top of the skirt and what was even better is that trending this style for Fall, with the options of  a scarf to help hide any areas that would peep through, this outfit was worth every penny. More so, you can even mix and match the top with jeans or perhaps pair the skirt leggings, turtleneck and a jacket.  So ideally you have at least 4 outfits or so to trend with one buy.

Pencil Line : Pencil Skirt & Ankle Booties + My Favourite Ankle Boots for Fall 2014.

Hi everyone and happy Friday to you!

Taking a little break from #PinnedItSpinnedIt on Instagram as I was busy trying my hand out at photography and styling for a fun photoshoot for one of my ardent supporters.

She had contacted me and asked for styling tips and how to take nice pictures. Being based here in Hong Kong as well and having been following my blog religiously, I decided to invite her over for a day and tried my hand being behind the camera ( literally), and also helping her do her hair / makeup and styling. It was a fun day and certainly realise it takes a lot more out of those behind the scenes/ camera than the model themselves for photoshoots. It was hard work but patience got us through the day.

Respecting her privacy, I will not be sharing her pictures on my blog but you can see a couple of her shots on my Facebook Fan Page, as she continues to tag me on them as she posts them through the course of time.

So here's an outfit I had worn recently for lunch with the girls and figured it's a nice look to share, given that Fall is the time where we can start pulling out our booties. Of course the weather here in Hong Kong doesn't get much colder till perhaps November or even towards December. Hence ankle booties is the way to go with footwear till the mercury drops for the knee high boots to take over it's place.

I particularly like how the outfit stood out against the rustic temple that lies below a hill near my home. I wanted to present you a side of Hong Kong, which most don't see. People often see Hong Kong as a vibrant bustling city with branded stores and shops lining streets after streets in the city, and people mostly living in apartments on the main island. Where I live which is a good 45 mins from the main city, a vast majority of village people ( yes I do live in a village away from the city) are pretty religious and god fearing to a certain extent. There are about 4 shrines in total in my village alone. So, I wanted to have you feel the " heart" of old Hong Kong and so decided on this backdrop for this shoot.

Just a little fun trivia, this particular shrine is where my pack of wild dogs would go and take cover when the storms come through. Sheltered and warm ( but very dark) it seems to provide them the protection they need.

As promised, here are some of my favourite Ankle Booties to share with you.
