Hi everyone,

For those of you living in Singapore, you would have been following me on Instagram where I have been showcasing many types of hats or head cover recently as it's been sweltering hot these last few weeks. The heat and then the extreme blasting air conditioning in malls or public transportation has me suffering pounding migraines and headaches.

So I decided to keep the temperature more constant by wearing head scarves, hats and some type of cover from the drastic change in temperature on the top of my head. With this, I started to enjoy styling the different types of hats and I start to realise that not many people do wear hats in Singapore - when our weather is so ideal to style hats. I am not just talking about sports caps but stylish and chic hats.

Hence, I started a #hatchallengesg on Instagram to get everyone to share with me pics of them styling hats in Singapore so we can push more people to enjoy this trend. If you could, please do share your pic with me with the following :

1) #hatchallengesg
2) tag @yourstylearchitect

Moving on to today's look, I love this saucer style hat which I had commissioned my favourite millinery in Singapore - Girl With A Hat to design for me after watching the Emily in Paris series on Netflix. Yet wanting something more feminine and cute - Lise who is the owner and found of this millinery added cute little butterflies to my saucer hat to create some 3D effect for me.

So here is the first of many looks styling this cute hat for Summer!

I hope you enjoyed this fun look and don't forget to head on to Instagram to participate in my #hatchallengesg!

Love,
Simone xoxo

Hi Everyone,

I have been working on a new direction with all my collaborations that have come into play in recent months over Instagram and so I did not have the time to get on my blog in the last week or so. But here I am again and I have not forgotten you guys who wait patiently each week to catch my posts over the weekends.

So here is this gorgeous dress aptly named "Mykonos"that is handprinted.  Having a soft spot for nice, soft and beathable materials, and having experienced a lack of nice natural fabrics where most handprinted ones are mainly batik style, Marie ( owner and designer) of Acquabonita started to painstakingly source and curate fabrics handprinted by local artisans and that is how Acquabonita was born.

I personally am drifting away from higher hemlines as I get older, however this dress is so stunning with its bright pink colour and the prints which truly does remind me of those pictures I see on Instagram all the time of people vacationing in Mykonos, Greece in similar resort wear styles. So I decided to pair it casual with gold sandals and clutch and let's always go full on with the pairings, so I added a  gorgeous gold plated necklace, vintage chain link belt and a statement cuff to sum it all up! Ultimate resort wear style!

Do check out Acquabonita's website for their full range of products including earrings, bags and necklaces. I often use my summer dresses as transitional season pieces throwing on a vest or an outerwear over my summer dresses and pair it with booties or even knee length boots to take you from Summer to Fall. So it's definitely still an option for those of you heading into Fall to still grab this cool and comfy dress.

Hope you enjoyed this post and do follow me on Instagram where you can watch me in action on my IGTV Videos and learn about this new direction I am taking.

Love,

Simone xoxo

Retro Summer :: Scarf, Sea and Sand

Hi everyone.

Since returning from my recent summer holiday in Florida, unfortunately Cookie who is my 14.5 yr old Cocker Spaniel has been taken ill with seizures and partial loss of vision. We knew this was coming as she was getting on in years and struggling to walk with the onset of arthritis before we left. However this really took lots out of me as she is my first " baby" and to see her struggle like this is so painful and heartbreaking. Hence I had to reprioritise my life and decided to take a little time off all social media to focus on nursing her back to her stronger self.

Her seizures are less frequent though still happening at least 5 - 6 times in a day and which sees her  falling over whenever it attacks. Thank god she is only experiencing focal seizures where she loses her balance and coordination with her hind legs but its sad to suddenly see her just fall over unexpectedly. Often, she also surprises herself and looks at me wondering " what the hell is going on mom?" Now about a month since we got back, and the onset of these new conditions, she is coping with it and compensating lots when she feels it coming on and trying her hardest to stabilise herself before she falls. But the poor girl is just getting old.

Anyway, in this post I would like to share with you my continued styling of headscarfs this summer, particularly for the beach. If you had not already noticed, recently I have started to style my looks in more retro / vintage feel and so this trip out to Florida was no different. Taking a regular full button down cotton dress and styling it with a headscarf, oversize sunnies and high waisted bikini - I felt like Bridgette Bardot!!

I guess with my short hairstyle, it is kinda difficult to play around with changes to my hairdo to create different styles, hence accessories such as a scarf especially when out on trips is perfect to maximise one's wardrobe whilst travelling. Bring a few essentials and play around with it. This scarf is even large enough to be worn as a pareo for the beach after the swim. Or if you are adventurous enough to wear it as a top over denim shorts for holidays is yet another way to maximise one's wardrobe whilst on the road.

I was not quite ready to do a full on swimwear shoot seeing I had just eaten way too much on this trip, but a nice coverup with a full button down dress, leather slides and statement bag still makes one look quite stylish on the beach. High waisted bikinis is my IN thing this summer too and this @aguaclara piece is divine for the beach!

I hope you enjoyed this look and do let me know if you are into headscarfs this summer too.

Love,
Simone xoxo
