Floral Christmas :: Romwe.com Button Down Floral Dress cum Coat + Red Accents

Happy start of the week everyone!

I don't know about you but I had a horrid last week when my laptop crashed and the best part of it all, I did not do a recent backup. URGH.......Was desperately praying that all data would not be lost and had to work on my smartphone and ipad for emails etc... but you guys can imagine how frustrating that it is for me. Especially when all pictures have been uploaded and edited on my laptop!

Thank god for a kind and SMART I.T " angel" who saved my day and "Mr N." as I would like to call him -  managed to retrieve all information on my laptop for me before having to change my whole hard disk.

So here it is, my latest and long overdue post for the kind people at Romwe.com who saw my last post highlighting some of their items. So as I would like to put it - " christmas came early for me" and here is one of the goodies they kindly extended to me for my effort. If you have not read my previous post on them, here it is again ( click here).

The full button down front allows the option of styling this dress as an outerwear for a different look. Although the dress came with a red faux leather belt, however I decided to pair it with my own red and blue elastic belt to cinch in the waist a little better. I do love the cut and the way the dress falls nicely around the waist, though it was a little snug around the upper arms and chest.

I would best advise you to consider 2 sizes up if you are getting this dress simply as it may not totally be true to size. Given I was sent an XL size for this dress when I am usually a regular L size girl and yet finding it a tad snug around the chest.

Was hoping to channel the Duchess of Cambridge " Kate Middleton" with this outfit. I love how she wears those lovely longer coats and matching dresses in many of her engagements. Not forgetting, florals are an IN trend this winter as well so feel free to be as loud as you can with those prints.

Have a great time shopping for the last weeks before Christmas !!

Here Comes the Sun :: Yellow Floral Peplum Top and Gold Sandals

Hello everyone!

A hot and sunny week in Hong Kong and whilst the sun is getting stronger and brighter for next week ( can you imagine it's forecasted to be hitting a high of 34 degrees celsius the whole of next week -I am certainly getting out all my sleeveless tops, shorts, straw hats and more so making sure plans are made to stay indoors a fair bit more than out and about. It's just not on people.....

Another holiday shot trending Yellow which is a hot summer colour, and keeping the look nice and simple pairing it with my gold Steve Madden sandals for that extra oomph.

I had many a compliment thrown my way each time I wear these sandals out. Be it in Florida or here back in Hong Kong. Love the assymetrical design and with that extra gold bling to accent this beautiful tan leather sandals - it certainly captures one's attention.

Most people are often scared to pair a loud statement necklace over a " loud" printed top, but sometimes " loud on loud" does work!

I always believe with every outfit - you can play around and work with maximum 2 statement pieces. In this case, I went for the statement necklace and bling sandals.

Have a great weekend and a fabulous week ahead!

Floral Fantasy :: Floral Maxi Dress + Lace Up Gladiators

Happy Wednesday everyone.

It's midweek and am sure many of you have started to make plans for the weekend especially for those living here in HK, with the Dragon Boat Festival coming up this Saturday. A weekend off and where many of us would likely be heading to watch the boat races. Just remember to slather on much needed sunscreen and have a great time.

A time for cheer, this look is so perfect for this summer. Floral, bright and flowing.

I love the feather pattern print on this outfit and the colour which is like mustard yellow. So pleasing to the eye and just makes one get all warm and happy.

This a great look put together from recycled stuff from my wardrobe, ideal for an evening out in this hot summer heat or sunday brunch. Paired the dress with a camel coloured clutch and roman style belt, carrying forward the look with the gladiator peep toe style sandals.

Accented the look with a red coral reef bracelet - just to bring out the hint of colour in my accessory pairings and of course to full accent on the summer feel of this outfit.

You can easily swop the heels for a pair of open toe sandals and switch over the clutch for a shopping tote and voila... you've got the perfect weekend outfit to run to the malls with.

Autumn Love : Floral Kimono with Electric Blue Shorts

Hi everyone. The perfect Fall weather is finally here. Not too hot in the morning and evenings, which allow me to throw on a light outerwear and take it off once it starts to warm up by midday. Enjoyed putting together this bright and cheerful outfit to start your week with.

Whilst the boy is on mid-term break from school, I was able to wear this outfit for shopping instead of daily school runs. Easy and versatile, I fell in love with a Kimono outerwear which is really popular style of outerwear at the moment and which are much lighter than your standard cardigan and ideal for Fall ( especially in Hong Kong where it doesn't get too cold just yet).

You can play around by mix and matching your bottoms e.g coloured jeans / regular jeans or even tights/ leggings for Fall to bring out the varied colours in the Kimono throw.

I chose a bright blue shorts to anchor the base colour of blue and white and let the orange and yellow stand out strong from the Kimono.

Perfect weather to start pulling out my booties, this look could also be paired with ballet flats as well.

As most of you would know by now, my signature style is to trend my outfits with Statement Jewelry. Therefore,  I wanted to match multi coloured statement necklace ( thanks Carla!) - which was Christmas pressie from my bestie ( at least 4 Christmases ago) which I love so much and most definitely brought out the key colours in my outfit. Love it!!

Recently whilst researching on the net, I had also come across an online boutique - Lookbook Store based in USA, of which I find their prices are very reasonable and I love their collection. Furthermore they do provide FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING. Am dedicating some of the links below to their store for you to check them out.  Will certainly be shopping online with them and doing a haul soon to share with you. Have fun shopping and hope you like the Kimono trend as much as I do!

A cheery Monday to you all!

You would have realised the minor changes I was tweaking to my blog over the weekend. Decided to add a little more " colour" ( so to speak!) to make it more interesting. What do you think?

Getting new followers on IG and FB over the weekend and also recently discovered new fashion bloggers I personally would be following, so I hope to be inspired by them and bring you more exciting posts in the near future.

Keeping covered whilst the sun blazes on for the start of the week.

Have a great week ahead and do stay tuned for my take on New York's Fashion Week S/S 2015 trends.

Summer Flower Power - How to Add Floral Prints to your Summer Wardrobe

Sorry guys for such a long wait in between my last blog post. It's just been crazy mad this time around dashing about to get our stocks, photoshoot and launch for the Garden of Eden Collection for Foster Bay.

Phew.. finally just able to catch a breather and realise that I have been wanting to blog about the summer trend of floral prints and how to wear it in various styles and trends.

I seem to keep apologising but I have yet to find a photographer to help me take nice Fashion shots of myself in my outfits so its back to good ole me, my Canon Ixus or iPhone and my lovely undying mirror!!!( sob...sob..) Won't be long before I get proper fashion shots taken so please be patient and I will be back to impress!!

LOOK NO. 1 : Floral Tights with Striking Pink Top

Top : H&M, Bottom : H&M Floral Tights,
Shoes : ZARA & Jimmy Choo inspired patent wedges ( similar here & similar here
Cuff Bracelet : Hermes inspired, bought at Far East ( similar here & similar here)

LOOK NO. 2 : Floral Top with High Waist Shorts

This look was suppose to be semi-retro ( 60's) in feel. The top was a Christmas gift from my friend Carla, who knew I always love fashion and anything new ( hee..hee...). So in light of Spring / Summer trends approaching, this was the perfect trendy, lightweight, non-crease top I could easily match with shorts, jeans, or skirt for a meeting. Ideal top to take along for a Summer trip as well.

Here I have paired it with my favourite high waisted flat front panel shorts for Summer together with my cutout wooden wedgies from Japanese online shopping portal - Jipaban.

Necklace : Forever 21
The bright floral prints help to funk up what could have ended up as " grandma's hand me down blouse"! Funny enough with long sleeves, I felt much cooler in beating the recent hot weather than compared to short or sleeveless tops, as it protected me from the sun ( at my age any protection helps otherwise it's pigmentation galore!!!)

Again with the prints being so loud and overbearing, I kept my accessories to a minimum with only a gold knotted necklace for a little dressed up feel otherwise I felt kinda naked round the neckline.

So there you go, 2 trends to wear floral either as a top or as a bottom. So go have fun mix and matching your floral prints this summer!

Love, Simone
