Hello everyone from what is now Sunny Florida ( which was not the case when we first arrived a week and a half ago).
I could not get out of the house to take any pictures when we first arrived for at least 5 days and it was such a damper on our holiday plans. Nonetheless, spending time indoors was nice too to catch up on much needed rest especially without the doggies with me and also after travelling over 2 days and flying basically round the world from Singapore to UK to Florida.
Of course, the first opportunity we got to go out - I headed to the shops for much needed retail therapy. I always love shopping in the states especially at Nordstrom and Saks. This time we headed to the outlets in the hope of great bargains at Saks Off 5th and Nordstrom Rackj, and it was fantastic. At least for my husband, who can hardly shop in Asia due to the asian cut and sizing, he always shops like crazy when we return to USA as the clothes fit him much better here. I of course got some great bargains which I will showcase to you in the following posts.
In the meantime, this Summer 2019, I wanted to highlight trending summer head scarfs as a great summer accessory aside from the usual hats as thanks to my dear friend Angella back in Singapore who hails from Venezuela, she has been trending lots of bandana and headscarfs and after spending an afternoon with her learning the different ways of tying head scarfs, I wanted to start trending them whilst on holiday. Never knew how I would look trending headscarfs but I am certainly liking them a lot these days.
I had this scarf from H&M for awhile and usually use it to accessorise my bags but this time I decided to tie a simple knot style as a head scarf and kinda enjoyed the fact that now without my long hair I can finally have some change to my look aside from styling my fringe up or down which was getting boring for me.
I love the colour combination of Olive and Black and so this utility style skirt from Nordstrom Signature collection was the perfect summer outfit to pair with my rather huge circular straw H&M tote - totally exuding the typical holiday vacation feel and look.
I will be showcasing more of head scarf wearing in my next few posts in the meantime, I hope you enjoyed this look!!
Love,
Simone xoxo
Hi everyone and how have you been?
Took a week's break from blogging as my son was having year end assessments which many of you would understand Mom's tend to be more stressed out about this than the child himself. Hence as this was my top priority, revisions with him took precedent over all my other schedules.
I also want to share an experience I had with Instagram where I was shocked to be " slapped on the wrist" and put away in the " sin bin" for what it would seem like eternity. Many of you who have been following me from the beginning would realise that I am involved in a lot more collaborations these days which rightfully so has seen a jump in followers on my IG account. However given my short spates of time throughout the day where I am allowed intensive time on IG and social media, I try my best to maximise the full use of this time I am on it and unfortunately perhaps have triggered an algorithm on their system recognising me as a bot as I perhaps followed too many people in a short period of time.
As such, my follow action was blocked on IG and being the first time I have experience anything like this, I did not know the better and just kept trying one account to another to no better result. Then I started to go online to forums and realise I have been resetting and pushing my clock back in their system each time I tried to follow someone whilst on the " block" and obviously the best recommendation was to wait it out - for what was a long week or so. Anyway long story short, I am a good girl on social media and they finally realised that and so now I am in the all clear ( thank god!!).
Gentle reminder for my fellow blogger friends out there. Space things out!
Back to this post, I love trending jumpsuits and this comfy number was on a sale from Cotton On which is the perfect vacay jumpsuit to style. Lightweight yet stylish, I aimed to bring out the pop of colour on what would be an otherwise pretty plain palette and spice it up with my go to glitter wedges from #RiaMenorca.
This time I wanted to highlight the Peranakan Place which sits nicely off Orchard road, the main hustle and bustle shopping street of Singapore. I love these beautiful and coloured shophouses to create that perfect backdrop for this outfit. Some of these shophouses have now been turned into antique stores, bars, eateries / restaurants, so the next time you are in Singapore go check out Peranakan Place.
Love,
Simone xoxo
Hi everyone.
Hope you had a good long Easter weekend break.
To kick off the week, this was my take on what would be an ideal Easter outfit. A sign of rebirth, new life, I was immediately drawn to this dress calling out my name on the racks of ZARA when I was out recently.
A beautiful 1950s swing dress style, I love the full circle skirt which is so flattering and the V cut front certainly flatters one's décolletage. If you are daring enough to wear this dress loud and proud, bring the collar up to create an even more sexy and dramatic feel to this dress. The cinching of the waist with the black belt that comes with the dress, creates the perfect silhouette of the hour glass figure.
I wanted to keep the look fresh pairing it with nude accessories e.g nude wedges and a statement straw bag. However you can most certainly also up the ante with a black quilted top handle bag or perhaps a cross body or clutch bag as well as black stiletto heels.
Of course with such a loud dress, best to keep one's accessories simple and so keeping with the floral theme, I have styled this look with a simple black flower cocktail ring and black beaded earrings keeping the look toned down and with the main focus on the dress with subtle statement accessories.
I hope you enjoy this look and as this dress is fresh out of Zara's oven - you can still find it in the stores now!
Love,
Simone xoxo
