Velvet Crush

Hi everyone and Happy New Year again!

Whilst many of you are coping with the snowstorm in Northern America, we were lucky to have made it out and back to the east for the new year. I wish those affected by the storm to keep safe and warm.

Velvet has always been my favourite fabric for the wintery months. It somehow exudes an old school charm, pure elegance and has a classic air about it. So  here's a slightly warmer style one can trend with velvet.

Check It Out :: Plaid & Checkered Shawl and Cap

Happy Sunday everyone,

An easy casual look for Winter. I do not own many plaids and checks items in my wardrobe, however this scarf was a beautiful gift that could lift the colours of any outfit. It just reminds me so much of the kilts that the Scottish wear and such a cute pattern to mix and match with.

To funk up the whole look, I paired it with this plaid cap for that slight edgy touch.

Check or Plaid scarves are the hottest style of scarves to get for this Winter. I particularly love the fact that this scarf was layered in its style - something slightly different. Like different check scarves all weaved and sewn together to create one exciting piece.

I hope you enjoyed this quick outfit post. See you soon and thanks for visiting.

Sultry Sunday :: Lace Cami Top + Pencil Skirt

Happy Sunday everyone,

Phew... what a week. Another busy week of crafting and now working on our school's Christmas Fair coming up in end Nov. Lots to prepare and lots of crafts to make for year end giveaways! Seriously, I never thought I was a "crafty" ( no pun intended) person till I joined my current school.

What a nice welcome change with temperatures dropping to a comfortable cool level where it still allows sleeveless dressing for dinner/datenight outings sans the heavy coats or cover ups, yet no sweat beads pouring down one's forehead sitting out for al fresco dining.

I hope you enjoyed this post and looking forward to bringing more colourful autumn stylings to you soon.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Cami-Soul :: Cami Top with Green Accent

Hi everyone and happy Sunday to you!

Been seeing the trend of cami-tops over t-shirt for awhile in Fall. Not truly buying into this trend although I have seen pretty lace camis over plain t-shirts and it does look kinda sultry sexy. Especially if it's a black and white monochrome ensemble.

Anyway, I decided not to invest into this trend as it isn't quite my style, however for the fun of it - mix and match old favourites in my closet just to play with this style trend ( well at least for once!). Went with a floral layered style cami to style this look just for that change as most of these trends you will find seem to work with bold colour or lace camis.

A casual weekend look introducing the lovely Saint Laurent Classic Monogram Quilted Shoulder Bag in green. I simply love how this emerald green is so easy to mix and match with my outfits and a nice Fall colour to work with too.

Since we're trending all the latest 90s fashion style all over again, this leather choker necklace with an infinity pendant was ideal to pair with this outfit.

My lovely Daniel Wellington birthday gift and ASOS Double knot cuff bangle was the perfect accessory to complete this look - tying in with the brown leather choker necklace.

Let me know what you think about Cami-Tops? Will it be a trend you would follow?

Floral in Fall : Floral Pants & Lace + Statement Necklace GIVEAWAY!

It's the weekend again everyone.

Been a long holiday week and was hoping to have more time to blog, but with the boy out of school for a number of days and the internet down at home, I could not do much till today. Was quite frustrating to be honest.

Those of you following the news would know that tensions are running high in Hong Kong with pro democracy protestors. Most people are now starting to get increasingly frustrated having to stay at home so as not to be inconvenienced by the standstill of transportation networks at certain major routes/ areas of Hong Kong and with some shops being closed in those affected areas.

Hence I hope this post would help cheer you up a little. Seeing most people here in HK would be home, getting on the internet to while away their time as going out isn't a good idea at the moment, or simply because its the weekend if you are on the other side of the world, and having a little more personal time to spare. I have decided to throw the first of my GIVEAWAYS of a beautiful Turquoise Fringe Statement Necklace to brighten your weekend. ( Read on for giveaway requirements and terms & conditions.)

Chanced upon an Instagram group that has fun spinning daily looks from an inspirational styleboard, put together by 2 fabulous ladies ( @jro1583 and @aem8168). This outfit was a spin to a look that was pinned on Instagram on 22 September. Tagged #PinnedItSpinnedIt, you will find women styling their daily outfits based on the inspirational pin and putting their personal touches to those looks to make it their own. Very fun....you should try it.

Just to give you an idea - here's the Pin that was put up on 22 September on styling a floral jacket, but since I didn't have one, I spinned it with floral pants instead.

Seeing the weather is slowly cooling down, I had thrown on a lace jacket over a similar lace top for those cooler days. However for those of you in warmer climates, the picture below sans jacket is equally great for warmer weather and a night about town. Just throw on a statement necklace, great heels and you got the perfect look.

Will certainly be sharing more Outfit Spins with you as I continue to play this challenge. For one, you don't have to think too hard about your outfit for the day as you have an inspiration to work with. Isn't that great!!

So for a chance to win this gorgeous Turquoise Spike Fringe Statement necklace, here are the requirements :
