Summer 2016 - Most Popular Necklace Trend!

Happy last August weekend to all of you.

As you noticed, my hair seems to be getting shorter and shorter with each passing month ( well, once you go short from long it seems to get lots easier to trim it further down!).

So I am certainly working on accessorizing my neck and ears much more seeing that without all that hair covering my neck and shoulders, it will allow a good showcasing of those lovely necklaces and earrings.

Choker necklaces, especially those black velvet ones were something I recall trending in the 90s and early 2000s. But like with everything else, fashion trend keeps going in circles. So I started going through every possible jewelry box and drawer to search for those choker necklaces I used to own but alas.... it was just not meant to be. Probably threw them all out in the move to Hong Kong - so off I went to Stradivarius and ended up purchasing a set pack of 4 which had a good assortment of a simple black leather choker with a moon pendant, a pearl choker necklace, a red velvet choker necklace with a embellished star pendant and a silver chain link necklace. All perfect for mix and matching and even bringing some oomph to what would be a simple outfit.

Restyling old favourites from the closet, I was out and about town for shopping and so threw on my current favourite pair of comfy culottes from ZARA and matched it with a very old Burgundy H&M tee.

As I had mentioned before, malls and supermarkets in Hong Kong tend to blast their air conditioning to the max during these hot summer months and sometimes, the temperature difference is so great, I am literally shivering just after being in the mall or supermarket for 10 mins. Whilst, playing with texture and contrast, I chose to pair this pair of geometric print culottes with a floral print bomber jacket ( another summer favourite clothing item) !

Had this Burgundy ZARA clutch for awhile, and it was perfect to pair with this whole look. And of course, the highlight of the day was my velvet choker necklace with it's embellished star pendant.

This pretty bracelet was a lovely gift for my birthday from an old friend. Love it's delicate detailing of a little tulip flower.

So, here are some of my favourite styles of choker necklaces that would be perfect for your pairings this summer to fall 2016.

BLUE'S CLUES

Happy Friday everyone!

I know many of you have been wondering why the quiet silence over the last 2 weeks....My sincere apologies but so much has happened to me since returning back to Hong Kong from Florida.

Back to work immediately upon my return certainly did not help my jetlag and it took  me a whole week this time to get over it. Then came the wonderful episode of my wisdom tooth extraction which left me in a fair bit of pain after. And to top it all off, tripped over a curb at the parking lot yesterday after school and damn.... there goes my knees. So badly grazed and bruised, I could barely walk and it was so hard to get up from a sitting down position or vice versa. Well like they said, all bad things comes in sets of 3s so I hope this is the end of my spate of " bad luck".

Loving this soft flowy pants, slim cut but gartered at the ankle for those casual summer days. Cool and yet trendy. This was my flight outfit whilst on recent vacation in the states and with the non-crease material, a perfect travel outfit to mix and match.

To bring this outfit up a notch, decided to go a little boho again with my styling and added a recent gift from my mother-in-law which was a beautiful gold herringbone necklace, which is a key accessory in the hip hop world and wore it as a headband instead.

I hope you enjoyed this cool, comfy look and stay tune for more inspiring summer outfits coming your way soon now that I am back on track.

Do let me know in the comments below if this would be a style you would trend for this Summer 2016.

Summer Loving :: Loose Pants + Crop Top

Happy Summer everyone.

I know it's been 2 weeks since I last posted. The last 2 weeks had been such a rough time for me with a quick and sudden decision to move homes in Hong Kong and a pre-planned vacation all happening at the same time. All for the better so not to worry. However, not that arranging a move is a breeze, we barely had a week after the move to reorganise ourselves and head straight out to Florida for our annual holiday. So much to do, so much to organise and arrange to ensure a smooth and quick transition - not only for us but for the doggies too.

Anyway... all is well now and here I am finally finished with the move and in Sunny Florida enjoying my summer vacation.

Will have more pics coming your way once I get vacation shots done but in the meantime, this is the last of pics I had done prior to moving out of my old place. So enjoy.

Exploring new styles with my dressing over summer this time - working with more sneakers than sandals/ wedges.

Listening to Justin Timberlake's " Can't Stop The Feeling!" whilst writing this post and its so befitting this post with it's catchy tune and whilst writing this post, my feet just can't stop tapping and grooving away. I certainly would rate it the perfect Song of Summer 2016!

Have a great summer guys and stay tuned for holiday shots in Florida coming your way soon!

Celeb Looks and Designer Trends To Follow This Summer from Simons.ca

Hi everyone,

If you haven't noticed already, I had just put together a brand new Look & Feel for my blog. After 4 years, I figured it needed a little sprucing up for Summer 2016!

So to kick off and in celebration of a brand new " Simone - Your Style Architect", let me share with you a new multi label designer online store I discovered this week. Although they are canadian based but they DO offer shipping to the USA where many of you guys are from, so it is a perfect site to check out.

Simons.ca to me, is pretty much similar to ASOS.com where they offer a range of high end designer wear but also current season trending items on a lower budget for those who love to get the look for less. Besides their Women's collections, they also cover Men's and Home / Lifestyle items which was such a treat knowing you can get beautiful bedding sets, cushions and even decorative items like candle holders and items to dress up your kids' rooms.

Of course, my main focus was checking out the Women's collection more than anything else. Besides top designer labels such as Diane Von Fursternberg, Chloe, Vivienne Westwood, Michael Kors etc just to name a few, they also carry mid range brands from all over the world. So you are bound to find something to fit your budget. And like all amazing and successful online stores, they now carry a range of products and items under their own private label " Simons".

TREND # 1  - JUMPSUIT
Clockwise from left to right : Boho Chic Jumpsuit //Penny Lane Quay Sunglasses//
Pure Feather Hoop Earrings // Emma Go - Sophie Sandals

So, what  better way then to put together looks for you - mix and matching some of their items that caught my eye whilst surfing through their site. I am indeed getting excited about these looks, just unfortunate that being based in Hong Kong, they do not ship internationally as far as I know, but it won't hurt to drop them an email to find out more.

I was inspired by this classic black and white jumpsuit with a sexy halter top to put together this first Look. The comfort of those loose flowing palazzo pants makes this an outfit you can dress up or down. For me, I always believe that when you buy an item it needs to take you places. Not just working on a single look. So I styled this jumpsuit smart casual with beautiful large round rim sunglasses, and continued the bohemian theme with drop real feather earrings and accentuating the 2 tone outfit with these gorgeous metallic sandals!

If jumpsuits is your thing, here is another popular favourite style for this season. Blending culottes and jumpsuits into one.

Fluid Culotte Jumper

TREND # 2 - SHIRTDRESS

Clockwise from top left to right : Redesigned Chic Linen Shirtdress // Golden Hammered Cuff // Shiny Italian Clutch // Steve Madden Belinda Sandals

I love shirtdresses especially for Summer as it's so quick to get up and go and yet with different accessories, it again allows you room to play with your looks. A great travel item as well. This linen shirtdress in a pastel pink hue just called out to me. The sleeveless style was pretty with a twist of the higher neckline. No Summer wardrobe is complete without a pair of leather sandals and these Steve Madden ones are puuuurrrfect!

Kept accessories to the brown / gold tone hue and a simple clutch would finish off this look. All nice and simple yet understated elegance. A great weekend outfit or one for dress down Fridays in the office.

TREND # 3 - ONE PIECE SWIMWEAR

Clockwise from top left to right : Soft Straw Hat // O'Neill Bare Shoulder Beach Dress //
Vanessa Wu Metallic Sandals // Anne Cole Monochrome High Neck One Piece Swimsuit

Well, I don't know about you but I obviously prefer one piece swimsuits as opposed to bikini wear simply because I am so self conscious of my bulging waistline. Hey look - we are all not perfect so we need to choose the right items to suit our figures and that will accentuate our best assets and hide our flaws! ha ha ha....

Loving this beautiful floral swimsuit and figured a nice beach dress, metallic espadrilles and a beautiful sunhat would make it the perfect look to take you out on those fab summer beach holidays!

Here are also some other styles I was drawn to in their store :

Michael Kors Jewel Logo Bandeau One Piece Swimsuit

Simons Scalloped Pique Balconette One Piece Swimsuit

La Blanca Sahara Drape Halther One Piece Swimsuit

There are just so many items that fit my budget on Simons.ca, and here are some of Summer's hot trending items you may wish to consider when you head over to Simons.ca to put together your Summer Wardrobe.

Tassel Belt Tunic Dress

Wavy Lace Dress

Of course no outfit is complete without that perfect handbag to throw your stuff in. Loving these styles.

Nioulargo Hobo Bag

Italian Leather Sleek Saddles Bag

Which of the above would you consider getting? Love to hear from you in the comments below!

Summer 2016 - New Look!

Happy Sunday everyone,

If you haven't yet noticed, I have just launched a new look and feel for my blog and to compliment this whole adventure of refreshing one's looks - I got myself a haircut too! All ready for Summer!

I had been wanting to have a change in my looks especially for this Summer 2016, and after much research and thought, decided to pop into a Korean Hair Salon and requested for a korean hair stylist to chop off my locks. Having seen this kind of bob-style on some korean actresses and with almost a half hour consultation with the stylist, I was brave enough to finally make the decision.

Quite funny but naturally once the look was put together, I started changing my style as well. Working towards more korean pop fashion as opposed to my previous style which is more inclined towards more ladylike and smart casual styling. As sneakers are all the rage for 2016, you will notice that I am starting to drift away from ballet flats and sandals and will be styling my summer outfits more with espadrilles and sneakers this Summer 2016.

Loving this bell sleeve top from Zara which I had highlighted in my recent shopping haul video ( check it out here) and I do love how it could easily pair with pants, shorts and even a pencil skirt. I did wear it over the weekend with even a mini skater skirt. What a versatile top!

Loving these Rubi ( Cotton On) lace sneakers which are so comfortable. Got them also in army green canvas too.  To be honest, I would usually pair this same ensemble with ballet flats or open toe sandals, but since I decided to take a twist on my haircut - leaning towards a korean pop fashion influence - sneakers seem such a perfect choice for this outfit.

Crossbody mini satchels are the IN bags for spring/summer 2016 and this lovely Chloe Drew inspired bag from Shein.com was the perfect choice. You would be surprise that although this bag looks tiny, but it certainly is most spacious in what I could squeeze into this little bag.

Aviator sunnies - a perfect accessory to complete the look.

With this new korean style dressing,  accessories are kept simple and in line with the gold tone of the handbag chain.

So let me know in the comments below if you like my new look! Love to hear from you and your suggestions on a new dress style I should adopt for Summer 2016.
