Newspaper Girl :: Flat Cap + Wide Leg Pants

Hi everyone,

This weekend was a bit of a crazy one. To start of, the weather dipped to a cold 9 - 10 degrees and out came our wool cardigans and thick winter jackets and coats. Seriously, its the end of February and whilst I am following many IGrammers who are starting to post Spring outfits, here I am all bundled up this weekend.

Feeling a little grey and down - I had to pump up the volume of this outfit by going a little crazy and pairing it with a very bling choker necklace.

Back to my outfit, patches in various forms e.g seals, flowers, lipsticks on jeans, front of parkas, bomber jackets and also on sleeves, this trend has been trending for awhile. Check out this Stradivarius jumper top with slight flare cuffs that is on sale at the moment.

Going into details, the lacing edges on my Fendi Dotcom bag is pretty cute. Hence styling it this time without the attached coloured pocket attached on the outside so you can enjoy the beauty of the details of this bag.

I also took the opportunity this weekend to meet up with fellow Instagrammer  @mamamika who I met online but quickly build a great friendship with her and her family. As she is also from back home, our friendship immediately took off once we made the time to get connected and met for drinks with our other halfs. So much to share, so much to laugh about and reminisce of back home. I enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal at her place.

These extremely comfy wide leg cotton ribbed pants from Uniqlo is in the perfect style to complete the look. A style that can easily take you from winter to spring and certainly an item that would be ideal to take on trips as it's pretty much non-crease.

A look inspired by the Newspaper boy - I am so loving my flat cap to complete this look. With the cold winds blowing a wise choice keeping my ears from the draft and feeling nice and warm.

Thanks for visiting and do leave me your comments below if you like this look. Please do share what styles of outfit would you like to see me trend in the coming weeks? I would love to bring you outfits that would interest you.

Vested Interest :: Long Vest and Pleated Skirt

Hi everyone,

Christmas is less than a week out from today. Playing with ribbons and bows all day with gift wrapping - decided to go a little crazy at the start of this outfit shoot, and threw on my tasselled belt as a necklace accessory. May not be the right thing to do but hey Fashion is all about having fun isn't it?

Again, you would have noticed, I seem to stick to favourite colour palettes for my winter outfits. This year, I particularly gravitated lots to Olive and Burgundy tones.

Old favourites to the rescue when you seem to be in a rush and can't seem to find anything to wear. A wardrobe full of clothes and yet still, always in dilemma.

Bought this Goyard clutch to carry my documents for meetings, but I end up using it more as a day clutch bag rather than using it for my documents... love the fact that it is oversize which makes perfect sense trending it during the day rather than evenings.

Feeling like a cowgirl from a Western movie with my high cut leather boots!

I am finally on holiday now so will have more time to spend blogging. Do stay tune for my Christmas outfit posts and enjoy your christmas shopping!

Hot Ribs :: Ribbed Knit Midi Dress + Olive Trench Vest

Happy Monday to all,

How did your week go? Mine was pretty smooth except for the fact that the husband was away but he is back, safe and sound! That's the most important thing isn't it? Was busy over the weekend to celebrate my son's birthday as well hence the slight delay in this post on a Monday, instead of the weekend.

Nice warmer weather too here in Hong Kong ( soon to change again) and so a jersey dress was pretty warm enough and styled it with a long vest for added coverage when it gets a little chilly towards the evening. You can see from the pictures that I was struggling hard with the wind directions - and my hair blowing all over the place but that's the fun part of taking shots with some movement at least. Keeps it real.

Pulled out an old favourite - my Celine inspired mini satchel. Looks cute with the outfit and added that little depth to the whole earthy toned outfit.

For those of you concerned with the body hugging feature of jersey dresses - this tip of styling it with a vest would certainly give you some " security" in terms of hiding those slightly bulging mid-waist sections.

I am not a model - just your regular girl next door, working mom and like many of you, with little time for exercise and gym workouts trying to balance family life, work and a hobby. So as you can see from my pictures, these are styles of dressing I put together to inspire regular ladies in their 30s - 50s where we share those common issues with our body changes after motherhood and with creeping age.

I love my accessories and so this statement necklace which was a Christmas gift ( thanks Lauren!) came in so handy for pairing to this look. Kept my arm candy a little simple this time with my favourite MK watch.

Have a great weekend ahead and do stay tune for my next collaboration where I will have Easter Bag Topper Printables ready for your Easter Candy Giveaways, FREE!

Happy 2016!

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year !! Into the first few days of the work and school week of 2016. Didn't get to do a post on my New Year's Party outfit as I was down sick again and did not  get the chance to head out for any parties.... sigh....

As temperatures slowly drop ( it's been a pretty warm Christmas and New Year), here's a look to inspire for those casual weekends or a day out for shopping.

If you had not already known, " burnt orange" is the new trending shade for Winter 2015- 2016. So I decided to bring out the bronze tones with my bronze clutch and brown leather calf high boots.

Keeping the outfit to an earthy bronzy tone - threw on this lighter beige outerwear for a somewhat cooler morning. Kept accessories to golden hues in line with the bronze/ orange tone. This clutch is an old favourite from Aldo. I love how old favourites add something different to new outfits.

As always, I love stacking my bangles and the lovely new circle pendant necklace was a nice gift from ASOS. Simply love them all.

I hope you like this outfit and why don't you try trending Burnt Orange items in your outfit this Winter.

To help inspire you, here are some great buys I found online to add to your closet to start trending.

So In Love With Red :: Plaid Coat and Red Knitted Jumper

Hi everyone,

Ah... February! The month of all things RED - Chinese New Year ( Red being the colour of good luck) and of course Valentine's Day! The smell of love in the air is so intoxicating as soon as the month switches from January...funny though how most people would breeze through the year with little expressions of love for their partners and only till Valentine's Day or in the month of February would everything just suddenly come to life!!

Ok, I am not a cynical person about the commercialisation of Valentine's Day but seriously, do you need to only take your partner out on V-Day itself? I am a person who love spontaneity. Of course it's always very lovely to have some romantic getaway pre planned etc but I love the idea of that special someone just calling and say " Pack your bags and we're off in an hour for some fun". One can dream right? Though after so many years of marriage, with the dog, kid and routines, it's pretty impossible to be just that spontaneous but the world would be a much better place and relationships would be so much more enriching if we could just be.....

So what are your plans for Valentine's Day?

It was quite chilly this morning with the temperature dropping much lower out here in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Am literally blasting my speakers off with the greatest hits of Tears for Fears ( my ultimate favourite band of all time!) whilst writing this post and what more appropriate song than " Sowing The Seeds of Love" going on in the background, candle burning on the side, The mood's slowly being set.

I recall with fondness when I was in school, for every Valentine's Day, I would go buy cellophane paper and lots of candies and chocolates and make little bundles with a heart shape card for each of my girlfriends, telling them how much I love them for being my besties! So for those single girls out there - don't get dishearten or lock yourself up during this time! Go and have loads of fun and enjoy the love of your best mates!!

For those of you in a relationship, don't wait to tell your partner only once a year how much he/she means to you! Do something different with them, remember how you guys met and take him/ her to that special place. Re-live that moment... tell him/her how you felt the moment you knew that there was something " special" there! The first time you touched...

Remember how in my last post of 2014, I mentioned I was so disheartened in 2014 and had so many frustrations thinking what else is going to happen next? I wasn't sure if 2015 would be much better and it has finally started to look up for me. Thanks for some of your encouraging words and for many of my friends - your lovely friendships that money can never buy. Your listening ear and your support for my causes and adventures in life means so much to me.

So here's Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.

Will end off with some fun shots ( with Cookie as usual) to brighten your day!
