Gong Hei Fatt Choy :: Embroidered Cheongsam + Pink Silk Jacket

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! This being the Year of the Rooster, here's a twist to our quintessential Chinese national dress known as cheongsams or qipao as they are commonly referred to, that the Chinese often wear during this festive period.

Modern designers and the new generation are moving out of the taboo on " no black or mourning colours" for our festive outfits. Hence this lovely peony embroidered qipao was pulled out from the back of my closet and to calm the waters with older folks, trending it with a very bright reversible pink and lime green chinese style silk jacket.

Trending this qipao brought back sweet memories of the time when my good friend Joey and I, setup Foster Bay back in 2012. We totally enjoyed shopping for outfits to sell on our online store and this was one of our New Year favourites back then. I obviously kept one for myself as I love how this qipao looked on me and that it incorporated the traditional chinese dress style with a modern twist on the embroidery and the monochromatic colour palette.

Obviously I wanted to play " safe" where traditional superstitions are concerned e.g no blacks or mourning colours, so this lovely reversible pink and green silk jacket was just the answer to bring bright cheer to the outfit and brighten up a New Year's Day!

With much visiting and running around to friends' homes for the New Year, a perfect time to trend my new Marni shoes with a low heel to stay comfortable but with just enough bling for such an occasion.

Through the years, I have learnt which outfit styles suit me better. Halter necks seem to be a very slimming and sexy cut for me. So this dress hit the ball right out of the park to create that slimming silhouette.

Accessories are so important to make or break and outfit. I matched this look with a matching fuschia pink Celine bag and my lovely tassel Chanel earrings.

And here's a look of the jacket in reverse - lime green! Which do you prefer - pink or green?

Here's wishing all of you a Happy and Prosperous New Year !

Walk On The Cool Side :: Wide Leg Pants and Studded Sandals

Good day everyone!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. During my recent summer vacation, I decided to try on a style that I had never own before - "The Wide Leg Pants". Found this floral wide leg pants kinda interesting with it's slight peek a boo detailing. Ideal for travel and comfort, I wanted to style it differently and went with a loose 3/4 sleeve top instead of the conventional tighter fit crop top / tee which most other bloggers tend to gravitate towards.

Got a few compliments out and about in this outfit in Florida, and seeing it's wrinkle free for both top and bottom, it would also make an ideal outfit to wear on a flight.

An outfit style to fit all body types, I think it's certainly a cool chic look to trend for the rest of summer.

Accenting this outfit with a punch of colour with my Celine Trio Bag in Pink which as you can see, I had taken it apart and used the first panel as a clutch this time. A perfect travel bag to own.

Thank you so much for reading !

Tulle Kit :: Tulle Skirt & Leather Biker Jacket

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the delay in the release of this post - as most of you would know I usually post twice a week. However last week was just crazy busy for me with Connor celebrating his 8th birthday and I had a bunch of his friends over, soccer trials and birthday parties to attend. Was also busy with work so couldn't get any personal down time to blog.

So will keep this post short to pick up the pace again. Not sure if many of you have been noticing the current trends of bloggers and fashionistas sporting tulle skirts in many of their IG and blog posts. Recalling I had one such skirt tucked away at the back of my closet - I decided to pull it out again and style it for Spring 2015.

As I mentioned in a previous post - gladiator heels are an back in trend for Spring Summer 2015 and I just love this pair sooo much. As high as it looks, these snakeskin platform gladiator heels are so comfortable, I could run in it - literally!

I particularly chose to put this look together with the intention of contradicting feels to the outfit. Ballerina sweet blended with a rock chic biker element. Classy yet Sexy with the gladiator heels.

Fooling around having fun during the shoot. Am so glad to inject a new life to this old piece from couple of years back.

Whilst putting this outfit together, I felt the vibe of Carrie Bradshaw from " Sex In The City" wearing this skirt. I do love her quirky way of dressing and certainly this is one look she sported that is imprinted in my mind.

So here are how my fellow bloggers are styling their tulle skirts. Would you try this trend? Please share with me your thoughts on this item in the comments below and tell me which is your favourite way to style this skirt?

Have a " swinging" week ahead and see you again soon!!

Christmas in Asia : Midi Skirt, Crop Top & High Cut Boots

Happy Christmas Weekend everyone.

I bet most of you have taken time off blogging or even catching up on blogs over this holiday period. Nonetheless, still very much in festive cheer and of course with all the post Xmas Sales on at the moment, one still needs to be inspired for basic items to trend and buy for 2015!

In my previous video post, I mentioned that a Midi Skirt is a basic essential item to have in one's winter wardrobe and as you can see trending it with Hi-Cut Leather Boots gives it an edgy rock chic feel to an otherwise feminine ladylike outfit. Paired it again with my beloved Studded Leather Biker Jacket.

This outfit shot was taken prior heading out to the shops for Christmas Shopping. So decided to throw in a couple of candid mall shots for you to have a glimpse into "Christmas in Asia!"

Wishing one and all a Happy Christmas Weekend and a Fabulous New Year ahead!

Floral in Fall : Floral Pants & Lace + Statement Necklace GIVEAWAY!

It's the weekend again everyone.

Been a long holiday week and was hoping to have more time to blog, but with the boy out of school for a number of days and the internet down at home, I could not do much till today. Was quite frustrating to be honest.

Those of you following the news would know that tensions are running high in Hong Kong with pro democracy protestors. Most people are now starting to get increasingly frustrated having to stay at home so as not to be inconvenienced by the standstill of transportation networks at certain major routes/ areas of Hong Kong and with some shops being closed in those affected areas.

Hence I hope this post would help cheer you up a little. Seeing most people here in HK would be home, getting on the internet to while away their time as going out isn't a good idea at the moment, or simply because its the weekend if you are on the other side of the world, and having a little more personal time to spare. I have decided to throw the first of my GIVEAWAYS of a beautiful Turquoise Fringe Statement Necklace to brighten your weekend. ( Read on for giveaway requirements and terms & conditions.)

Chanced upon an Instagram group that has fun spinning daily looks from an inspirational styleboard, put together by 2 fabulous ladies ( @jro1583 and @aem8168). This outfit was a spin to a look that was pinned on Instagram on 22 September. Tagged #PinnedItSpinnedIt, you will find women styling their daily outfits based on the inspirational pin and putting their personal touches to those looks to make it their own. Very fun....you should try it.

Just to give you an idea - here's the Pin that was put up on 22 September on styling a floral jacket, but since I didn't have one, I spinned it with floral pants instead.

Seeing the weather is slowly cooling down, I had thrown on a lace jacket over a similar lace top for those cooler days. However for those of you in warmer climates, the picture below sans jacket is equally great for warmer weather and a night about town. Just throw on a statement necklace, great heels and you got the perfect look.

Will certainly be sharing more Outfit Spins with you as I continue to play this challenge. For one, you don't have to think too hard about your outfit for the day as you have an inspiration to work with. Isn't that great!!

So for a chance to win this gorgeous Turquoise Spike Fringe Statement necklace, here are the requirements :
