Striped Trumpet Dress

A quick post to kick off the weekend before I get so caught up with my son's 12th birthday celebrations and totally forgot to publish the post. He has been wanting to have a small gathering having missed 2 birthdays in a row due to school trips and he had sacrificed one year for an iPhone X so there you go!

I love this sexy trumpet style dress from WISH. Definitely a good choice for our warm and humid weather and yet classy enough for workwear and/or lunch with the girls. This was an easy dress to get in and out of and therefore if you had not noticed, was the outfit I had worn to my DEXA Scan. The blue and white stripes remind me of a nautical theme which I always love - a classic style.

Paired the look with my bright yellow V cut kitten heel shoes to add some punch of colour to the outfit. This was a more corporate look I had put together rather than a funky one and easily paired with coloured jacket to take you from office to dinner out in town.

Enjoy this look and wishing you a great weekend ahead.

Love,
Simone xoxo

It's A Wrap !

Hi everyone and how was your recent Valentine's Day celebrations?

Being married for 18 years going on 19, we started getting practical with Valentine's Day. Just the thought of having to pay double / triple the prices at restaurants just because of a date does not rest well with us older folks, and so we decided to stay home this year and whipped up a quiet home cooked dinner.  Nonetheless, I hope for those of you who are still out there in the dating scene, Valentine's Day did bring you much surprises and joy! ( And lovely gifts to add!).

Whilst many of you were busy dolling up for your romantic evenings,  I was getting down and dirty Marie Kondo-ing my kitchen and my son's room! It's driving me nuts and certainly the shops especially our good old Daiso ( $2 Japanese store) is enjoying the sudden increase in business from The Fosters as I hop in and out throughout the week with bags full of storage boxes for me to complete my Konmari organisation.

For those of you not familiar with what I am talking about, Marie Kondo is this really petite Japanese lady in America that goes to regular people's homes to help them reorganise their houses and uses the KonMari method of organising. The main thing about the effectiveness of the organisation method is ONLY to keep items that " spark joy" in one's lives. Everything else should be relooked and we need to learn how to let go. Another thing that strikes out in her Netflix series is that she makes sure she " greets" the home before she starts reorganising. This spiritual aspect did take me a little by surprise since these are after all objects with no life / soul but I can appreciate where she is coming from. Indeed it is a very different experience as to regular home organisers and it does motivate me to do the same. Stay tuned to this blog where I will update you on how I have worked reorganising my home.

In the meantime, let's head back to this lovely wrap pants from D.D Collective. A cute and quirky style and I love the burnt orange hue. This lovely floral top from Forever 21 which I had stashed well at the back of my wardrobe resurfaced again whilst I was busy organising things and so I thought it was a good pairing with the pants. Of course to add some colour, these lovely kitten heel V front pumps from Zara says it all and a nice bucket bag to finish the look!

So stay tune my friends and I will share with you how I managed to Marie Kondo my place.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Take A Bow :: Classic White Shirt and Pencil Skirt

A good Friday again to all of you.

It's been a good Easter break and managed to get lots of stuff sorted out - throwing out and giving away old clothes and items I rarely use in the closet. Packing away all winter stuff as the weather starts to warm up here in Hong Kong and more so, clearing junk I have put aside thinking I will need or use them someday but obviously that doesn't happen. So clearing these items helps me clear my mind at the same time.

Do you ever feel that way too? Somehow when your life is cluttered with things, your head seems cluttered as well. Once that is reorganised, so is your life ( ...in general that is).

Put together this look as part of my "Pairings" video recently released, and realised that often many of my readers would love to have more closer viewings of these look, since usually in a video, it is so time restrictive and sometimes not in HD as I would like it to be. Therefore am also blogging on these same looks for you to have a better feel of the items.

This is a great look for work, where conservative as it may seem with the hemline and button up collar, but funky with the bold accessories of the large bow-tie and the jumbo bag. Continuing that gold and black metallic touch with a statement belt, this ties in the look together with or without a blazer thrown over.

Keeping the accessories simple and few, to allow them to individually stand out and " make" this outfit.

Stay tuned for the next post of trending a fringe skirt for Summer. Till then, take care!!
