Tulle Skirts for Winter 2016

Good weekend to all of you. Amazing how quick time passes and the weekend is almost over.

I hope you had a chance to read my last post which was a guest post from Yen of DIVA IN ME! An accomplished and very supportive fellow blogger, you must read Yen's tips on trending jackets for Winter 2016. If you have not read it yet, do click here to be inspired.

Fall and winter has always been a time when I seem to start to really cover up ( reasonably so due to the cold weather, and so often, I tend to opt for pants / jeans more than skirts). However, feeling a little girly and since the weather is only pretty cold during the early mornings and evenings yet warming up to a nice 20 degrees in the afternoons, hence I figured, I could still take on this look before it gets much colder.

Whilst online with my favourite store, I saw this lovely floral bag strap which matched perfectly with my Katie Judith peek a boo style bag. This kicked off the basis of this outfit coming together.

Always loving how denim adds that rock edge to an outfit - I decided to pair the complete opposite feel with this denim shirt with a girly tulle skirt, which is one of Fall Winter 2016 skirt trends and there you go!

As you will see from the designers who trended tulle skirts for their Fall Winter 2016 collections below, most of them highlighted the fact that tulle skirts are pretty see through - often pairing with nice bodysuits or even bloomers. Therefore, the pleat style on this skirt - another IN trend for Winter skirts mostly seen on metallic skirt styles - paired with the transparency of tulle certainly equals girly elegance.

I am sure you would have noticed this recent floral / patterned bag strap trend with major designers like Fendi, Hermes etc... so when I saw this lovely floral strap available on my favourite online store, I had to have it. Don't you think it's such a pretty accessory to have?

My lovely rescue dog Rum was obviously wondering what was going on with the photoshoot and so photobombed a couple of shots. And yes, she has started to learn how  " not to look directly at the camera" after a few " training shots". Ha ha....

My 11 yr old Cocker Spaniel - Cookie, also wanted to get in the action. So please excuse the doggie distractions. They both especially loved the twirling of the tulle skirts. Well, girls will be girls right?

My favourite Marc Jacobs ballerina flats in silver was pulled out of the wardrobe to complete this look.

Garden Party :: Maxi Tulle Skirt + Gladiator Heels

A good weekend to all of you.

These shots were taken awhile back when I had done a Video on White Shirt Pairings and thought it would be nice to re-post this look to inspire you to trend maxi tulle skirts for the rest of Summer.

The peachy tone of the skirt and it's flowing gracefulness reminds me so much of attending a Garden Party - even more so ( if I could ever have a chance) one in Tuscany. Just that cool casualness about this outfit is ideal for even Sunday Brunch or a Weekend Wedding.

Trending with old accessory favourites from my wardrobe - metallic clutch, layered stacked bracelets, thick studded waist belt and my beloved Michael Kors watch to complete the look.

Here are some street styles of wearing Long / Maxi Tulle skirts. Remember pairing it with an appropriate style top would define the outfit as you would like it to be e.g  glamourous or dress down.

Peek-A-Boo :: White Dress Shirt + Skyblue Midi Skirt

A good Thursday everyone,

Hope this week has been a fruitful, productive and more importantly a happy and cheerful week for you. Been wrecking my brains for some topics I could work on for my next video - so please comment below and give me your suggestions on what you would like to see in my upcoming videos. Realised many topics obviously has been covered before by other fashion bloggers but always best to learn from my readers and followers what they would like to see from my videos and my blog.

This summer look I have recently put together is perfect for a weekend brunch, sunday outing, or to go shopping with the girls in. Love, love, love this skirt which is recycled from my wardrobe 2 years back.

For Summer 2015, midi length skirts are the way to go as it's a nice cover up for those of us a little more conscious of exposing our thighs and lets be honest, how many of us are truly confident of the shape of our legs? I bet many of you would have something to gripe about your legs be it the shape, knees, calves or thighs. So this style works best for us, regular women out there, without model like long slim legs to trend mini skirts for Summer.

Loving this sky blue hue for summer and paired the look with a simple white shirt which was highlighted in my recent " White Pairings" video on Youtube. The matching studded bag and shoes was an ideal accessory to add a tinge of depth to this simple outfit.

Kept my accessories simple and to the gold hue with a layered necklace, simple stud earrings and a gold bow belt. Less is more I guess.

Here are some styles of Midi Skirts which you can look at trending for this Summer 2015.

Shades of Grey :: Grey Culottes and Grey Hat

Happy Start of the Week Everyone!

Hope you have been having a fabulous weekend, chilling and hopefully enjoying warmer and nicer weather.

Its been foggy and wet here in Hong Kong, so I decided to share this look taken a couple of days ago. Somehow this wet weather does get one feeling down and depress - almost suicidal for some... but sun was peeking out a couple of times today so hopefully brighter, sunnier and happier days ahead!

You know how I have been talking about " Culottes" in my last couple of posts and videos and that its a fresh alternative to shorts or skirts for Spring/Summer? So here I decided to pair it with a leather jacket for those of you in cooler climates still, so you can take this look easily for work on casual fridays or on weekends out. As for my fans in warmer tropical weather, I have put together some styleboards you can work with anytime throughout the year.

Got this pair of casual and easy to match grey culottes from ASOS ( my fav online shopping site) and it fits perfectly to many items in my wardrobe as I can easily dress it up or down with various pairings.

You will notice that most of the items in this look have been recycled from my wardrobe - just to inspire you with a few basic essential items, you can mix and match them so easily to create different looks to take you out on the town! Indeed my take on Getting The Look For Less!!

Keeping the look simple, a pop of colour was needed just to give it some oomph... so paired it with a camel coloured leather bag for that all over elegant touch to this pairing.

Before the weather starts to warm up for good and where a choice of hats would gravitate to lighter materials for summer, here's one of the last few looks for my Zara hat I simply adored this Winter.

So now, here are some looks from casual to evening that you can pair and style culottes in.

Look No. 3

If the above styleboards may not fit your style, perhaps these celebrity and street looks styling Culottes would help give you more ideas on mix and matching this elegant piece of outfit.

If heels are not your thing, try trending Culottes with flats or sneakers instead.

I hope you enjoyed these looks I have put together for you and have fun trending Culottes this Spring 2015!

My Favourite Fall Fashion Trends 2014 - Part 2

Hi everyone.

In this second instalment of " My Favourite Fall Fashion Trends 2014" I am going to highlight some of the clothing styles that resonated in most of the Fashion Weeks' Runway Shows. I have also put together a few styleboards of similar outfits styles you can find online that would be make trending these styles alot easier for you.

1. Prints
Go for optic prints this year, and be daring enough to mix and match different prints in an outfit.

2. 60s Silhouettes
Now, when haven't we stop loving Retro styles?

3. Drop Waist Dresses
The Drop Waist Dress has always been a favourite of mine. Fun, flirty and yet perfect for day or night outfits. Definitely a dress style I would be looking out for when out shopping.

I like these simple yet elegant drop waist style dresses which you can find in perhaps thicker Fall ready fabric, jacquard or woollen materials. Or you can easily pair these sloeeveless dresses with a beautiful long coat or scarf for the transition from Summer to Fall.

4. Assymetric Hems and Midi Skirts
The 2 more commonly seen Fall skirt styles to follow. Do try and match these skirts with other trending styles or colour trends to bring out your outfit.

5. Peplum
Ooh... Another favourite style of mine. Peplum! More often than not, we tend to look at Peplum styles for our tops, but try trending them with skirts as well.

My last and final instalment on "My Favourite Fall Trends 2014 - Part 3" that is coming up next, will highlight the remaining print and style trends of A/W 2014-2015 where some of them are my personal favourites.

Keep trending and stay tuned!

Love,
Simone
