Spring Ditsy Floral + Dungaree Pairing

Top : Urban Revivo
Dungaree : past season, Juice Couture
Clutch : Goyard
Shoes : Vince Camuto
Earrings : Mahua Ethnico ( similar here & here)

 Hi everyone,

Can't believe we are now already heading into the 3rd month of the year! Indeed how quick time has flown when it was just recently I was just putting up the Christmas tree and ringing in the New Year. Glad to move on from 2020 with all that's happened but also it seems much has also happened in just these 2months of the year.

Well - at least spring is around the corner and for many we are already in Spring! So here's a fun and cute outfit one can style and add some cheer to your lives. For me, I have always loved the ruffles and the florals, so combining the structured and pretty harsh and masculine look of a dungaree with a ditsy floral, ruffle top is the perfect combo. Throwing on some open toe sandals and we got something going on here. Not to forget accessories play a very key role in completing any outfit so here, this stunning pair of handcrafted earrings by Indian artisans is the cherry on the top.

Here's a little reel I have put together whilst styling this outfit for you to see it come alive!

It's Mother's Day weekend my gorgeous friends.

For the many of you who are mothers, how are your love ones pampering you with the lockdown situation? Regardless if you are based in Singapore or anywhere in the world, we are all experiencing some form of social distancing and I hope your husbands and love ones have been creative with their celebration plans.

For me, I am just going to chill and watch a movie ( which I have been wanting to do since the start of self isolation back in March and guess what, I have yet to do that!). It's been so crazy everyday juggling with family commitments and chores and yet to do what I love which is bringing to you great steals and buys during this critical time where we need to help support our local businesses and of course contribute to keep the wheel of economy turning ( albeit much slower than before but we try!).

So for today, I am bringing to you comfort and style with this absolutely chill lounge jumpsuit from @Indiibreeze. I do not often style animal prints that much but this one was certainly different cos instead of the standard black and white leopard print, this was in a blue hue and it kinda portrayed a little of my mood at the moment. Rearing to roar but yet feeling a little dampened in mood. The cotton fabric is so comfy in our very humid weather for now and for those of you in climate countries, this would be perfect to style and head into Summer with.

I can move so easily in this jumpsuit as well as getting in and out of it with ease like a pair of shorts in the loo too! Just pull it up and down and there you go....Whilst we are all still mostly stuck at home, this would be a nice pick me up daily outfit to style at home, comfy to deal with kids and running around the house yet chic enough to throw on a hat or scarf or turban and head out to the supermarket / post/ bank ( the few places we can go!) and look absolutely fabulous!!

I chose to style this boho style with a hair band and threw on these blue grey hue evil eye tassel earrings from @Envet, and a reversible talisman ring from @shoplustre keeping accessories simple and chic. Now me being me, love to always push some limits to my styling - so this time, I chose to go print on print again with the play of vibrant shophouse printed pattern clutch from @Photophactory to bring this look up a notch. Many would think clutches are only for evening wear but not if you style them right. Wearing it crossbody makes it a casual piece to style and keep the essentials close to your body like Identification cards ( to get into malls and grocery stores quicker) and of course mobile phone and hand sanitisers. Whilst you can always carry a larger shoulder tote for your shopping!! Who would have thought these 2 patterns would go hand in hand.

Finally, whilst we are going for tassels with the accessories, these fringe tassel slides from Bayou completes the look, also with a shade of blue to bind the look together.

So here's the good news!! Many of these retailers are offering special deals for the month of May particularly for my followers, and many are also offering free shipping or a reduced minimum spend for free overseas shipping. Hi everyone. This week, I am bringing you a casual look that you can style for Spring. Made of a slightly heavier material, which is perfect for those still slightly cooler days, and with a slight stretch to it, this double breasted pin stripe jumpsuit from J.O.A can be worn on it's own or as I did, pair it with a t-shirt underneath for more comfort.

Keeping this look casual, I paired it with a comfy pair of espadrille wedges and top it off with a baker's boy cap. However I needed to add my own little feminine twist to what would have seemed like a more tom-boy style of dressing. Hence the cute little flower pin which I had for more than 10 years hidden somewhere in my closet and now it was the perfect piece of accessory to finish this look with.

You could add a pair of booties to this look for a more funky vibe. And the straw bag in circular shape just helps to add a little texture to the final clean line look. The same goes for the contemporary wave ring.

Here are some other pin-stripe jumpsuit inspirations I found on Instagram and hope these pictures could help you style your jumpsuit in various ways.

Hi everyone and how have you been?

Took a week's break from blogging as my son was having year end assessments which many of you would understand Mom's tend to be more stressed out about this than the child himself. Hence as this was my top priority, revisions with him took precedent over all my other schedules.

I also want to share an experience I had with Instagram where I was shocked to be " slapped on the wrist" and put away in the " sin bin" for what it would seem like eternity. Many of you who have been following me from the beginning would realise that I am involved in a lot more collaborations these days which rightfully so has seen a jump in followers on my IG account. However given my short spates of time throughout the day where I am allowed intensive time on IG and social media, I try my best to maximise the full use of this time I am on it and unfortunately perhaps have triggered an algorithm on their system recognising me as a bot as I perhaps followed too many people in a short period of time.

As such, my follow action was blocked on IG and being the first time I have experience anything like this, I did not know the better and just kept trying one account to another to no better result. Then I started to go online to forums and realise I have been resetting and pushing my clock back in their system each time I tried to follow someone whilst on the " block" and obviously the best recommendation was to wait it out - for what was a long week or so. Anyway long story short, I am a good girl on social media and they finally realised that and so now I am in the all clear ( thank god!!).

Gentle reminder for my fellow blogger friends out there. Space things out!

Back to this post, I love trending jumpsuits and this comfy number was on a sale from Cotton On which is the perfect vacay jumpsuit to style. Lightweight yet stylish, I aimed to bring out the pop of colour on what would be an otherwise pretty plain palette and spice it up with my go to glitter wedges from #RiaMenorca.

This time I wanted to highlight the Peranakan Place which sits nicely off Orchard road, the main hustle and bustle shopping street of Singapore.  I love these beautiful and coloured shophouses to create that perfect backdrop for this outfit. Some of these shophouses have now been turned into antique stores, bars, eateries / restaurants, so the next time you are in Singapore go check out Peranakan Place.

Love,
Simone xoxo

It's A Wonderful Christmas Time!

One more day to go before Christmas Day! Are you all set and ready to roll?

Trending several different looks for the countdown to Christmas 2018 ( please check out my other posts here & here) I must admit jumpsuits were certainly not a first choice I would go for, especially for a glammed up evening. However this green jumpsuit I got online definitely had the hint of Christmas if I paired it right. So I threw on an old pair of gold glitter heels, gold accessories and immediately those nostalgic feelings of Christmas started to flow making it quite the right choice as soon as I stood by the beautiful and tall Christmas tree at the lobby of the Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre Singapore.

Sad to say, many businesses here in Singapore, including our main stropping strip of Orchard Road, have gone so commercial during this period and losing the true essence of Christmas in their commercialised, horrendous festive decorations. All screaming sponsorhip  but NOTHING about the true meaning of Christmas.

So boy am I certainly glad to see a large traditional Christmas tree and decorations at this hotel, with presents and snowman at its foot. Things I remember Christmas being about as a kid in terms of decorations and NOT Disney characters! (Yikes!!) The hotel certainly kept it simple with traditional decorations like reindeer, santa claus, bells, baubles and pine cones making it a perfect setup to wow and woo in their guests both locals and international ones alike. For me,  I certainly could not resist taking a few shots for my Christmas memories.

Back to my outfit, this look is perfect with a thicker overcoat for those of you in wintry climates ( how I wish I could have trend it with a nice thick and lush faux fur coat), thinner outerwear for slightly warmer but yet still cool and nippy climates like Hong Kong, Florida and other parts of Asia, and of course going just with the jumpsuit in it's own glamour -  for us here in the tropics.

Enjoy this look and stay tuned for more on my Christmas outfit coming up soon!

Wishing one and all a very Merry and Blessed Christmas 2018!!

Love,
Simone xoxo
