Jump On the Bandwagon

Happy happy weekend again! Another week has flown by so quickly.

I don't know about you but I have been feeling a little sad with the recent passing of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. Of course, it's not that I know either of them personally and for Kate - since the company was bought over by Coach she really did not get involved much in the creative aspect of the label however it is sad to see people who have been so successful, accomplished so much from hard work and struggles, and yet feel so alone in the world that their only way out would be to take their own lives....the same for Robin Williams.

All of us are bogged down with daily struggles, financial matters, relationship issues, and whilst some of us are able to pick ourselves up again or find that small twinkle of a light at the end of the tunnel to have hope and persevere, many of us would tend to fall into depression. Believe you me, I recently felt that way too and it was not a nice feeling. Talking about your problems or issues to closest family members and friends, often does not help. I know how that feels.

So if someone came up to you and told you they are struggling with some emotions, please don't write them off and say " you need to pull yourself together"... " you need to pick yourself up"....." be strong...." instead, just let them talk, and constantly be there for them. If you can help them in solving their problems that would be the best but perhaps make that extra effort to bring help to them because we are not the professionals to know what is the right thing to really do in those cases - especially if someone has suicidal thoughts.

Back to my outfit post, this look came about with my intention to bring to you more "recycled" looks. To show you how you can be creative with your existing wardrobe. If you have not yet read my previous post of restyling old favourites, you can check it out here.

The statement sleeve blouse was styled before with jeans when I was back in Hong Kong ( see post here) and it resurfaced again whilst I was thinking how best to work around a funky look with my Juicy Couture denim overalls ( another old fav but never styled for a post before). A school girl innocence kinda look which I enjoyed styling with sneakers this time.

White Feather

Hello everyone and Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to all my friends especially those in America who celebrate this lovely and meaningful occasion.

Whilst many of you are getting bundled up this weekend as temperatures start to plunge ( even for my friends in Hong Kong), but I am sure the warmth of family and friends' love will certainly keep everyone nice and cosy this holiday weekend.

My son has been down with such a bad viral flu which seems to be going around in the community lots lately, that leaves me no time to work on any shots this weekend. Hence, sharing these pictures that were taken a few weeks ago and hope you enjoy it! Loving jumpsuits by the way and this cutesy piece from Topshop had me at " hello" with its broderie anglaise.

Call It The Blues

What a rough week ! I was down with a viral flu and lost my voice. Felt sick as a dog and yet having to pull myself through the day with daily routines of houswork, dog walks and seeing to the family meals wore me out totally!

The only colour I could see was just the blues... finally as I started to feel a little better - it was time to head out the doors for a little breather and a much needed good cup of coffee!

I have been seeing so many 11.11 sale specials from various online portals that it was driving me nuts! Wanting to buy so many things but it's just the pull and gimmick of getting an item on a sale ( I bet it was not that much of a discount to be very honest) that had me scrolling site after site for great deals and even adding stuff to my cart that I don't even need - just because it was on sale. Then just at the final moment when I was about to click " checkout" I had a moment of awakening and decided to clear the cart instead! And there you go... 11.11 singles day sale, nothing in the cart and no shopping done....

And that's why they call it the blues!!

Tickle Me Pink

For some reason ( and this may actually spill the beans on my actual age...) but I started to feel a little nostalgic and reminiscent of the past recently. Particularly so of my teenage years and uni days.

And so, I tapped on iTunes my favourite band of all time -Tears for Fears, and immediately the memories started flowing. I recall how I painstakingly recorded my favourite songs of the band on a casette tape and played them on my walkman with headphones on as I sat on the school bus every morning who picked me up as early as 6am in the darkness, to head for school.

Their songs were of extreme vision and each song had so much meaning to the various stages of my life. It shaped and impressed the views of the world on me at that time. The struggles of mankind. And to this day, those songs still hold such strong political meaning.

Back to this playful look, its no denying I am into blush pink at the moment and with the embroidered detailing on the neckline as well as the long sleeves, this was a hit for me!

I hope you enjoyed this look and please share with me which is your favourite band of all time. It would be fun for us to reminisce together.

Retro 70s :: Off Shoulder Retro Floral Print Top + Fuschia Sandals

It's the weekend again and I love how lantern sleeves are such a rage for Summer.

Check out this retro floral printed top from H&M which kept calling out to me as I walked through the store. I love the 70s feel of this top and it worked perfectly pairing it with my hot pink sandals and Celine bag.

Hope you enjoyed this look and have a great weekend ahead !

Off Shoulder Chambray

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. This weekend, check out summer's hottest trend - Chambray + Off Shoulder top. I am both loving denim / chambray clothing items and somehow blue and white seems to be the go-to colour I tend to buy this summer. If you recall over last few summers, it was olive, then white and now this year - blue!

I am so loving this style and loosely tied knots at the sleeves add a cute detail to the outfit.

A simple outfit to take you through the weekend. You can most certainly play with loads of accessories with this outfit. I styled this with a mexican woven belt which doubled up as my headscarf and cool white denim knotted mules from ASOS.

Also to add a little depth to the outfit , I tied a knot at the waist to create some character to an otherwise simple off shoulder top and to bring out the knot accents on the sleeves. You can also leave it untied and hung loose over a pair of pants. If you get bored of this plain top, you can always accessories with brooches, long necklaces or to be bold, get one of those iron - on embroidered patches to create a different feel to an otherwise well loved top.

Have a great weekend then!
