Hey everyone,

How are you holding up? I think many of you would be staying at home during this period of time, practising social distancing and just keeping safe and praying this soon will pass. For me, my son's international school was recently identified as a new cluster in this second wave that hit Singapore within the last week or so, and I must say we were kinda worried and scared especially as I also have my 80 yr old mom living with us. However, we just do what we can to protect ourselves for the moment and thank god none of the kids in the school have been confirmed cases so we are keeping cross their resilience will keep them going. School though has been close for my boy since last week and online virtual learning is full on. Somehow I feel more stressed with him being home and ensuring he keeps to his timetable for his studies and not chatting with his mates over Zoom. Ultimately, we pray for everyone's health and safety and for the families who have lost their love ones.

In this post, I wanted to bring to you something bright to cheer you up ( again!). So, this was a look I had taken just before everything started to get more serious - well here in Singapore at least. If you have been following me, you would have noticed that only 2 weeks ago I was still out and about on photo shoots but now, I am totally putting everything on the back bench to do my part and be socially responsible and stay home as much as possible, only venturing out for essentials. Only if everyone started staying in more and paid more attention to be as cautious as possible, can we seriously get over this whole pandemic. Unfortunately here in Singapore, I do see many still out and about at the malls or in the parks, without much regard how serious the issue is. I do understand about not panicking but complacency is also not right! So please if you are reading this, do your part to protect yourselves and your love ones and stay home!

Back to my post, as I needed that big pop of colour to boost my moods - so bring on the lemon yellow fever! Decked out almost head to toe in citrus yellow ( including my sunnies) to brighten up my mood, I realise it may be too strong a colour to inspire some of you, hence I  toned the look down with the mix of a denim jacket. Just to break things up a little.

Keeping the look simple and ready for summer 2020, I paired this casual outfit with a pair of white cotton sneakers and a honeycomb rattan woven bag which added that much needed quirky touch to the whole outfit.

I love how this gorgeous contemporary yellow block ring and yellow sunnies 😎 just topped off and finished  the whole yellow look like fancy toppings on a birthday cake. Well before I sign off, keep safe guys, stay positive and remember that a small inconvenience of staying at home for a period of time is being socially responsible and certainly helps us all to get ahead of this virus so that we can all get back to our lives again. Take care ok?

Love,
Simone xoxo

Hi everyone and how have you been?

Took a week's break from blogging as my son was having year end assessments which many of you would understand Mom's tend to be more stressed out about this than the child himself. Hence as this was my top priority, revisions with him took precedent over all my other schedules.

I also want to share an experience I had with Instagram where I was shocked to be " slapped on the wrist" and put away in the " sin bin" for what it would seem like eternity. Many of you who have been following me from the beginning would realise that I am involved in a lot more collaborations these days which rightfully so has seen a jump in followers on my IG account. However given my short spates of time throughout the day where I am allowed intensive time on IG and social media, I try my best to maximise the full use of this time I am on it and unfortunately perhaps have triggered an algorithm on their system recognising me as a bot as I perhaps followed too many people in a short period of time.

As such, my follow action was blocked on IG and being the first time I have experience anything like this, I did not know the better and just kept trying one account to another to no better result. Then I started to go online to forums and realise I have been resetting and pushing my clock back in their system each time I tried to follow someone whilst on the " block" and obviously the best recommendation was to wait it out - for what was a long week or so. Anyway long story short, I am a good girl on social media and they finally realised that and so now I am in the all clear ( thank god!!).

Gentle reminder for my fellow blogger friends out there. Space things out!

Back to this post, I love trending jumpsuits and this comfy number was on a sale from Cotton On which is the perfect vacay jumpsuit to style. Lightweight yet stylish, I aimed to bring out the pop of colour on what would be an otherwise pretty plain palette and spice it up with my go to glitter wedges from #RiaMenorca.

This time I wanted to highlight the Peranakan Place which sits nicely off Orchard road, the main hustle and bustle shopping street of Singapore.  I love these beautiful and coloured shophouses to create that perfect backdrop for this outfit. Some of these shophouses have now been turned into antique stores, bars, eateries / restaurants, so the next time you are in Singapore go check out Peranakan Place.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Bucket List

Having been feeling so extremely tired the last couple of weeks, I needed to get out this weekend for brunch. To detox my mind, enjoy a lovely chill meal and just be around nature.

Chanced upon this quaint, eclectic colonial style cafe at the Bukit Timah Saddle Club. Owned by Jan Yeo, this lovely cafe boasts no air conditioning yet breezy interiors due to the old fashion architecture ( which I have also learned to appreciate in my recent trip to Batam at the spa). Thatched roofs styled homes are just so cool and natural and so environmentally friendly ( the waldorf teacher in me speaking!). Certainly brings me back to my early years growing up on grandma's large " kampong" ( village) house. The meals here are divine from delicious superfood salads to lovely pastas and sandwiches. You can also enjoy sitting out on the deck watching the kids go on their pony rides ( available on weekends at S$ 10 per ride). What a lovely sight.

Dressed in casual wear ready for the humidity and heat, I paired my lovely white sleeveless lace top with light pink pastel tailored shorts from ZARA. Of course even a casual outfit can be a statement with the right accessories and so here I am trending this unique Bucket Bag which I got online recently. The cute flower pot style amazingly holds plenty and one can also take out the pot to use the bag as a simple top handle style mesh bag.

So if you are ever in the Bukit Timah area in Singapore, do go check out The Rider's Cafe and remember to make a reservation in advance seeing how popular this destination is especially on the weekends. Have a great sunday ahead!

Love,
Simone xoxo
