Two-in-One :: Shirt Dress cum Jacket + Espadrilles

Hi Everyone.

In preparation for the cooler weather settling in, I figured mix and matching old favourites from my current summer wardrobe would help to ease the gradual weather transition.

This outerwear is actually a shirtdress from MANGO that I trended a fair bit over Summer.  With cooler evenings and shopping malls that's blasting their air conditiong, this shirtdress served a much needed purpose as an outerwear this period. This look would also be an ideal travel outfit as it's already encompassing 2 looks in 1 outfit. So less to pack and yet looking chic whilst out and about.

Having styled most of my outfits with heels, I wanted a casual take on this look and therefore paired it with these lovely gold pair of espadrilles from Marks & Spencers.

Keeping accessories simple, I opted for my Coach Legacy Flight Crossbody bag in Deep Port, for that touch of colour to brighten up the whole outfit.

Love this new pressie my girlfriend had sent me for my recent birthday. Triangle shaped open cuff bangle and necklace from Hanna Lee. Love, love, love !!

Cha Cha Cha :: Checkered Skirt & Gingham Street Styles 2015.

Happy Friday,

Slowly picking up pace on my blog posts again whilst I sort out my personal issues. Sorry for the slowdown over the last 2 weeks. Should be back on track very soon with exciting collaborations and giveaways coming your way soon.

Meanwhile, as mentioned in my previous post on my " 10 MUST HAVES FOR SPRING WARDROBE 2015", Gingham is heavy trending in terms of pattern for this year. So some of you may be wondering what is the difference then between Gingham prints,  Checks, Plaid & Tartan?

Gingham pattern are usually smaller check prints of equal width ( square) and often alternating with white. Many often associate this kind of print with aprons, kitchen cloths and young girls' outfits. But 2015 will see this print in clothing styles that would take it up a notch to a sexy level.

Plaid ( as its known in the USA & Canada) OR Tartan, is often associated with Scottish kilts or blanket patterns. Consisting of varying criss crossing of horizontal and vertical bands where the varying stripes meet, this gives the appearance of new colours blended from the original ones.

Checks tend to be larger square patterns of equal width, similar to Gingham, and often alternating with white or black though not always.

So now that we have cleared up the confusion of these varying checkered patterns, here's my style inspiration for you this week. As I do not own anything in Gingham JUST YET ( and hopefully I will look at getting some), therefore I decided to pull out my checkered peplum skirt - being the next closest pattern to Gingham and trend it since the weather has warmed up a little.

Nice to throw on a floppy hat and statement jewelry to top off the whole look!

So how at best can you Style Gingham pattern for 2015? Here are some Street Styles over Fashion Week SS 2015 trending Gingham prints, for you to draw your inspirations from.

Trending Tuesday :: Nude Cardigan + Printed Pants

Hi everyone. Hope you guys had a good weekend.

Been busy working on another giveaway since we are literally counting down the days to Christmas and many of you would actually be starting your early Christmas shopping. Stores are starting to throw out pre-Christmas sales and Early Bird Discounts etc... So please stay tuned !

Was having a nice cuppa this morning with a friend at Pacific Coffee and suddenly Christmas Carols started playing in the background! We literally just stared at each other and started to laugh ( we're just about mid-November and a good month and a half away from Xmas)....indeed the mood is building up in the air and before you know it, it's the holiday seasons again!

I know I am slightly behind the general blogging public here seeing I have only recently become active again but am hoping to start making videos. So whilst I am learning how to edit my own videos for the moment, I will try my best to launch my first Youtube video soon.

So here's an outfit perfect for this transitional period where a little cover up is required although it may not get that cold by mid day so you can easily slip off the cardi and enjoy the sun whilst it lasts.

Do remember that the Michael Kors US$ 300 Gift Card Giveaway is ending soon on 24th November 2014. So hurry and get your entries in as soon as possible for that chance to get yourself an early Christmas pressie. Click here to enter.

Fly me to the " Mira Moon" - Blue & White Combi with Silver Accents ( WINNER OF OCTOBER GIVEAWAY ANNOUNCED)

Happy Tuesday Everyone.

As promised, the winner for my October Giveaway is.... {drumroll}....... :
" GIOVANNA SESSA" ( Italy)
I will be emailing you to secure your details for the shipping of your beautiful necklace!

Meanwhile thank you everyone for your overwhelming response and participation. Do not be disheartened if you did not win this time as I intend to host regular Giveaways on my blog. This is only the first to come.

Was recently at the funky Mira Moon hotel in Wan Chai, Hong Kong for a nice meal and had to share this relatively new hotel venue with you guys. As part of the Miramar Group chain which has its flagship hotel, The Mira Hong Kong in Kowloon, this quaint but unique and funky hotel is quite an experience for both travellers as well as locals.

Upon entering the hotel, you will notice a very strong chinese influence in terms of decor and setting throughout the hotel. This Chinois Chic decor has it's roots based on a chinese folklore hence it's name " Mira Moon".

You can read this story HERE, and understand a little more the basis for the many " rabbit" figures/ lamps and references you will find around the hotel which I particularly love.

Love the idea of free Vodkha mixers in the room and Nespresso machines as opposed to instant coffee.

As an in-house guest you will also get a free iPad mini to use whilst in HK. A definite handy companion whilst on the go.

My favourite part of the hotel was of course the dining experience! Unique items on the menu included Spring Roll starters that looked exactly like Cuban Cigars....and breakfast Hard Boiled eggs served in what looked like Birds' Nest. Now how cute is that???

My favourite spot in the hotel was the " Secret Garden" where it would be ideal to have a nice cocktail or a crisp glass of Chardonnay under the Umbrella or at the outdoor bar whilst listening to cool lounge music creating that perfect, relaxing ambience after a hard day's work or just spending the night out with the friends.

Not forgetting for those staying in-house, a gorgeous view of the harbour awaits you when you head back to your room ( even from the bathroom), where you can sip champagne whilst relaxing in a warm bath enjoying the HK evening skyline.

For those of you unfamiliar with Hong Kong, Wan Chai where the hotel is located, is just right smack in the hub of the main shopping and eating district on Hong Kong Island. An easy cab ride to Central or a 10 min walk away from Causeway Bay. I certainly hope you will pay this hotel a visit or hopefully choose it as your hotel venue when you next pop into Hong Kong.
