Vested Interest :: Long Vest and Pleated Skirt

Hi everyone,

Christmas is less than a week out from today. Playing with ribbons and bows all day with gift wrapping - decided to go a little crazy at the start of this outfit shoot, and threw on my tasselled belt as a necklace accessory. May not be the right thing to do but hey Fashion is all about having fun isn't it?

Again, you would have noticed, I seem to stick to favourite colour palettes for my winter outfits. This year, I particularly gravitated lots to Olive and Burgundy tones.

Old favourites to the rescue when you seem to be in a rush and can't seem to find anything to wear. A wardrobe full of clothes and yet still, always in dilemma.

Bought this Goyard clutch to carry my documents for meetings, but I end up using it more as a day clutch bag rather than using it for my documents... love the fact that it is oversize which makes perfect sense trending it during the day rather than evenings.

Feeling like a cowgirl from a Western movie with my high cut leather boots!

I am finally on holiday now so will have more time to spend blogging. Do stay tune for my Christmas outfit posts and enjoy your christmas shopping!

Two back-to-back giveaways are ongoing at the moment to end the year with a bang. Click here to check them out and send in your daily entries for a chance to win some spending money!!

Do it like Victoria :: Grey & White

Oooh..... Finally the cooler weather is coming our way here in Hong Kong.

Chanced upon an online store... yes, again.... ( Look! This month there are lots of shopping to be done and sales happening everywhere so don't blame me for looking....) and saw this dress which looked somewhat similar like the one Victoria Beckham had in her collection a couple of years back.

Naturally it isn't an exact replica but the peek-a-boo white pleating layer at the bottom was quite the catcher for me. To be honest, the dress arrived but was certainly disappointed as it did not look like the pictures put up on the online store and also the ends were a little fraying ( nothing a lil snipping won't help anyways).

I have learnt this lesson many a times with online stores, its always a touch-n-go situation seeing they often post pictures which even isn't of the actual product and secondly the material used can sometimes be quite different from what it is described to be. Let alone the cutting of the dress. But of course, when the pictures look that good, and the price is somewhat reasonable, one tends to always forget past lessons learnt and get caught in the same situation over and over again. Nonetheless, since it's in my hands now, I might as well make something good out of it so here's the look for you.

So, just for your info, this was the grey Victoria Beckham Dress which caught my fancy ( as seen on Cameron Diaz) and the picture below was the picture posted of the dress when I bought it online.

And this was the picture of the item I had been drawn to purchase from.

Have a great weekend ahead and hope all is going well for your holiday preparations!

My Favourite Fall Fashion Trends 2014 - Part 3

Hi everyone.

In this final instalment on " My Favourite Fall Fashion Trends - Part 3", I am looking forward to trending these easy styles of outfits for Fall 2014.

6. Pleats

7.Leopard Prints
Ooh, for those who know me well, I am into animal prints and the thought of trending Leopard Prints in Fall kinda excites me again as I have been going more minimalistic and neutral in my outfit patterns ( mainly opting for more plain structured cut outfits in order to trend my statement Summer Necklaces).

So here are some easy to find Leopard items you could mix and match with to trend this look for Fall 2014. I did stay away from Leopard Print Dresses simply because this print is so loud in itself and best to be worn as an accessory or single item piece rather than as a whole outfit. Its such a fine line between establishing a classic look/trend or looking trashy if you know what I mean.

8. Knits
So, what is so different about wearing knits this Autumn/ Winter 2014 - 2015 as to previous years?
As most of us would do, we would often mix and match and pair our knits with Jeans, Midi skirts, Leather pants etc...This year, the trend is to be decked out in knits ( preferably) from Head to Toe.

Found these easy to wear knit items that you could put together to achieve the Top-to-Toe Knitwear trend for Fall/Winter.

9. Sock in Shoe
Decided to highlight a funkier trend one could play with this Fall 2014. Besides the athletic gear / sporty outfit looks, here's a cool one that would be quite fun to play around with.

Perfect for this in-between season and getting a longer wear out of your open toe heels and sandals.

Remember the main rules, either go bold and bright or neutral and classic / monochrome.

10. Stripes
Another popular style trend that is a classic, season after season. Try mix and matching various sizes of stripes in an outfit or work with stripes in various colours to refresh this style.

Check out my styleboard to Style Stripes on Polyvore.
You may wish to click the ad link to Shopbob on this blog post, and view the latest Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 collection which I simply love!

Enjoy trending for Fall 2014 and do share with me your favourite Fall Fashion Trends you will be styling!

Simone xoxo
