Hi everyone and how has your weekend been so far? Not sure if you have noticed in the pictures on this post ( or perhaps on my Instagram feed recently) that I have decided to change my hairstyle slightly again. Honestly with already a short hairstyle there isn't much allowance for drastic change unlike from a long to a short hairstyle. However I needed to feel revitalised again after all that has been going on.

So here I am with what I would deem as a Kris Jenner-Kardashian style. A versatile pixie like cut that I could wear fringe down as casual or blown up for a more sophisticated look. Do let me know in the comments below if you feel this new style looks better on me? Or perhaps give me some recommendation for my next makeover.

Headed out to The Coastal Settlement on the far east of Singapore for a casual brunch and loving the vibe of this lovely cafe. Options of indoor or al fresco dining among the luscious trees is such a welcome change with the weather hitting almost 35 degrees on some days the last few weeks. The decor of this funky cafe is so vintage with all memorabilia of days gone by as you can see from a brief picture attached above. Food was of good portioning though a little pricey but taste was certainly there.

Perhaps when you next have a chance to pop into Singapore, you could check out this lovely nook in the cranny or if you are based here, have fun heading out east and make it a trip to remember.

Have not styled polka dots this Summer so here is my first take on the polka dot trend. I love this off shoulder top which is so comfy in cotton and with it's 3/4 sleeves a nice versatile number to take you from day to night playing with various pairings.

I wanted to keep this a casual weekend look feeling the heat these couple of days and paired it with the latest trending Ria Menorca glitter wedges and a funky quilted waist bag.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Polka Weekend : 3 Ways to Style a Polka Dot Shirt.

Hi everyone! Yeah it's Friday again!

Wore this outfit recently as a spin off @ #PinnedItSpinnedIt on Instagram recently and thought it ideal to share this look with you, for a casual dress down Friday at work or for the weekend out. Classy yet quietly simple, polka dots somehow does add that feminine touch to an outfit without being too over " girly".

I wanted to keep the outfit simple and thought it fun to bring out my 3D doggie bag again. It's actually a pretty versatile bag to use on the weekend.

" Cookie" as usual was lurking around to photobomb my shots whenever she could, so decided to let her have the leading role in this next shot.

Whilst putting this post together I came across some Hollywood celebrities trending polka dot tops as well and figured, it would be nice to give you some styling tips and inspirational boards on how to wear a simple polka dot blouse.

Any one of these looks below that I have put together would suit Petite sizes to Plus sizes. Depending on the type of industry you are working in, these looks could also easily take you from work to dinner/ drinks.

Pattern Me Up : Polka Dot and Stripes

Hello everyone and hope you have remembered to enter my first OCTOBER GIVEAWAY that was listed in my last post. Just only 2 more days left before I close the contest so hurry and enter your name HERE - it's that simple! It is also listed on International Giveaways website where you can find many other great items to win.

As the weather cools down, my long sleeve tops are slowly crawling out of the back of my closet. I figured to add a little fun to Fall's fashion trends, I decided to play with contrasting patterns in this post.

Certainly starting to enjoy trending hats - so watch this space. One of my readers had sent me an email earlier on this week and mentioned that since following my blog she started to be more adventurous with colours and hats. And so this post is for you -" Miss.samijli" and hope this is a start on inspiring you with hats this Fall.

Love how the colours of this outfit stood out against the rustic background. Fun part of this shoot, was dealing with 7 dogs running around and getting them out of the picture. And mind you they were waist high Large Poodle dogs. Thank god they were pretty tame unlike our wild dogs here in the village.

Lioele - Secret Rich Pore Balm & Triple The Solution BB Cream

Hi Everyone,

Was recently given these 2 items as a birthday gift and was I amazed at the results and vowed to write a post on it so others who have similar skin conditions as mine will benefit from my experience.

LIOELE SECRET PORE RICH BALM

The first product is the LIOELE SECRET PORE RICH BALM which works fantastically as a pore reducer and primer for your makeup application. Keeping it simple here are the pros I found with this item:
  • Has a smooth powdery feel when applied.
  • Not oily, greasy or heavy
  • Blends easily like powder and covers the pores and wrinkle lines
  • Particularly effective over oilier T-Zone areas.

LIOELE - TRIPLE THE SOLUTION BB CREAM
Like many of you, I have also tried and tested a few famous brands on the market for BB Cream. However I have found after a period of time using a certain product, it somehow does not provide me the same coverage it initially did ( no idea why?). So, I was obviously sceptical with this product as it has made claims like the many others how there, but was I amazed again - especially when used in combination with the Secret Rich Pore Balm.
  •  Acts as an all-in-one moisturiser, cover up, sunblock and foundation.
  • Provides a good coverage especially over pigmentation and uneven skin tones.
  • Best to apply at least 2 layers for more obvious uneven skin tone areas.
  • Does not have skin tone colour options, however it easily settles and blends in to your skin tone colour. Still ideal for fairer to medium tan skin types.
  • Pump bottle top allows the control of amount on the fingers and prevents wastage.
  • Smoothens out and blends easily.
Picture not of me, however result is similar.

So once I had applied these products and finished off with a light powder coverup, I was able to go out and take a few shots of my OOTD.

Top : Lace Blouse by Princess
Skirt : WAREHOUSE

Clutch : Foster Bay
Wooden Wedges : Jipaban
Ring : The Quiet Riot

I liked the back of this blouse which help me to trend the polka dot trend for FALL 2012 subtly. The cute peter pan lace collar added that extra feminine touch to a simple blouse.

Have a great weekend ahead!

Love,
Simone
