Hi everyone and hope you are enjoying a great Father's Day weekend !
Of course this brings back memories of last year when Dad was still in ICU and I recall we had all gathered round his bed to wish him a Happy Father's Day. Even in that state of pain and discomfort, with tubes down his throat, he was able to scribble a " Happy Father's Day, Frank" message to my husband. I do miss him so very much and especially so during such special occasions.
Well not to spoil your moods or get everyone depress let's refocus on this gorgeous
Indii Breeze Topsoul dress I had recently purchased from
The Wyld Shop here in Singapore. The gorgeous, flowing and lightweight material of Indii Breeze dresses just spell SUMMER, ELEGANCE and CHIC all in one item. I love this particular style which they have named as their TopSoul dress collection as indeed it is full of soul! The versatility of this dress allows one to wear it both shoulder ups for a more modest summer look, or one sided off shoulder as you see in some of the pictures above that gives it an edgy feel.
I love the peep hole sleeves and the option of wearing it with a low waisted tie belt or one can be adventurous and wear the belt as a headscarf to further create that summery, resort vibe with the dress worn loose for the beach.
Matched the look with my go to favourite
Halo Halo Baby Aranaz bag and coral coloured accessories to bring out the beautiful tone in the dress.
I hope you will check out more of their latest collection available now and if you are in the East, do pop over to
The Wyld Shop to check out a great variety and collection of Australian designer brands.
Love,
Simone xoxo
Happy happy weekend again! Another week has flown by so quickly.
I don't know about you but I have been feeling a little sad with the recent passing of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. Of course, it's not that I know either of them personally and for Kate - since the company was bought over by Coach she really did not get involved much in the creative aspect of the label however it is sad to see people who have been so successful, accomplished so much from hard work and struggles, and yet feel so alone in the world that their only way out would be to take their own lives....the same for Robin Williams.
All of us are bogged down with daily struggles, financial matters, relationship issues, and whilst some of us are able to pick ourselves up again or find that small twinkle of a light at the end of the tunnel to have hope and persevere, many of us would tend to fall into depression. Believe you me, I recently felt that way too and it was not a nice feeling. Talking about your problems or issues to closest family members and friends, often does not help. I know how that feels.
So if someone came up to you and told you they are struggling with some emotions, please don't write them off and say " you need to pull yourself together"... " you need to pick yourself up"....." be strong...." instead, just let them talk, and constantly be there for them. If you can help them in solving their problems that would be the best but perhaps make that extra effort to bring help to them because we are not the professionals to know what is the right thing to really do in those cases - especially if someone has suicidal thoughts.
Back to my outfit post, this look came about with my intention to bring to you more "recycled" looks. To show you how you can be creative with your existing wardrobe. If you have not yet read my previous post of restyling old favourites, you can check it out here.
The statement sleeve blouse was styled before with jeans when I was back in Hong Kong ( see post here) and it resurfaced again whilst I was thinking how best to work around a funky look with my Juicy Couture denim overalls ( another old fav but never styled for a post before). A school girl innocence kinda look which I enjoyed styling with sneakers this time.

A quick weekend getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday, our upcoming 18th Wedding Anniversary and to celebrate our Easter holidays. Being only a 45 mins ferry ride away from Singapore, and seeing that the last I had ventured to this little Indonesian island of Batam was at least almost 20 yrs ago, we decided on this destination for our quick trip.
So bags packed, and doggies off to boarding, we arranged for a quick getaway not sure what to expect from this little quaint island.
Of course, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Batam as it had so much to offer within it's hotel premises from food, beautiful spa treatments operated by Tea Tree Spa and of course, the beautiful and expansive hotel grounds with landscaped gardens and a large swimming pool. There was an in-house sports bar, teppanyaki restaurant, games room filled with foosball, pool, billiard, chess ( you name it they got it) and of course a very large Gym and outdoor trampoline, table tennis and tennis court for the active ones. There was also an in-house kids club which was manned by the staff so mom and dad could sneak away for a quick massage or spa treatment not having to worry about finding someone to babysit.
Lazing by the pool hut after swimming a couple of laps, I enjoyed my pina colada and snuggled amongst the cushion for a nice read of the magazines and books I brought along with me. Funny enough the weather was nice and breezy and certainly not as humid as in Singapore at this time of the year.
And so a couple of outfit shots later, we dashed for a quick massage to unwind and relax.
Let me know if you wish to find out more about the facilities at the Holiday Inn Resort Batam - we definitely will be back again for more!
