Hello everyone.

If you have been following me on Instagram, my last couple of posts were mainly focused on statement jewellery and most of them were pretty large pieces of jewellery. I love how accessories can make or break an outfit. However today, I wanted to showcase how one can also mix and match statement jewellery with daintier pieces and yet all are part of the whole " symphony" to create the total look.

Here I am wearing a gorgeous Esme Crystal Sirena Ring from House of Rajput, in multicolour Swarovski crystal that has been identified as a " Jean Paul Gautier"- as they were specifically designed by him in collaboration with Swarovski. The unique cut of the crystal creates textures when one wears the ring as the light does bounce off in various angles with its unique cuts of the stone, hence creating a spectra of colours.

Wanted to bring out the multi coloured stone against my outfit so chose a plain yet gorgeous powder pink Whistles dress for this look. Kept the other accessories small, dainty and simple so that the ring may stand out against the whole look, yet every piece of jewellery has a role to play in the creation of this total look. The bee bracelet ( by the way I am so loving bee motif on accessories) and the simple pearl necklace from Embrace Jewellery is just perfect to play supporting roles to the Sirena ring. This pair of dainty earrings is from Lovisa and it clearly finishes off the total look. But yet besides the ring, another piece de resistance is this absolutely stunning, made in Singapore, shophouse printed clutch bag from Photophactory. Honestly if you are looking at a bag that makes you stand out from the crowd, yet bearing some form of cultural background to it, then you should check out the range of clutch bags by Photophactory where many are showcasing the Peranakan culture of Asia, with the printed tiles in myriad of colours, as well as shophouses and batiks. Many of the clutches come in dual tone which means you can always mix and match them with different outfits creating different looks with one bag as each flip side is a different picture and colour. In this case, the shophouse clutch only has one print to the bag but I love that it carries with it many colours that could allow this bag to be easily paired with any outfit.

Here, I am showcasing the bag for a more formal look, but you can also check out how I styled this clutch bag with a casual outfit in my post here. Now these gorgeous rainbow heel pair of shoes had to surface from my wardrobe to complete this look. Doesn't it add that final glam, a little retro, touch to the whole look? By the way, they are on sale now from The Tui Collection.

I hope you enjoyed the styling of this outfit and do watch this space as I bring you more fun and exciting ways to style your jewellery pieces soon.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Slithering Spring :: Snake Prints + Shift Dress

Hello everyone.

Trust you guys had a good weekend and enjoyed a nice relaxing time, either being pampered ( because of Mother's Day) or pampering your loved ones.

Been working a little more and hence, had less time to be blogging but am trying to pick up speed again soon. Had taken these pics a while ago but figured now that the weather is warming up, it'll be a good inspiration on restyling an old outfit aka my Navy Whistles Crepe Dress ( see original post here) with snake print accessories seeing it's a current trend in most stores for Spring/ Summer.

Funny enough if I may share with you, am also taking extra precaution especially with open doors etc as recently here in Hong Kong, it was reported that snakes are now coming out of hibernation and being soooo hungry, one python recently killed 2 large goats, ate only 1 ( because it's eyes were larger than its stomach) and honestly thought it'll be a good meal even with the goat's horns sticking out through its tummy. Amazing.... oh not to forget it also killed a cat!! My goodness me... so watch out for those slithering creatures especially with your pets.

The last time I posted this outfit, I paired it with a jewelled statement necklace. This time with the snake print accessories, I wanted to give this outfit a totally different appeal and paired it with a collared beaded necklace which gives it a feminine and girly touch to the outfit.

Am always about working with different accessories to create a different mood and look to an existing dress or item in the wardrobe! Love it!!

Here are some inspiration to trend snake print accessories or even outfits for Spring / Summer.

Happy Lunar New Year - Year of the Goat!

Happy Lunar New Year everyone!

As we enter the Year of the Goat with much festivities, lion dances, eating and drinking... here's some pics I managed to shoot whilst out with the family for a beautiful New Year's eve dinner.

Whilst red is the chosen colour by many for this auspicious period, I decided to go for a much pleasant shade of pastel pink for a change this year. This Whistles dress was a gift and I love the flowing silhouette of this outfit - very giving, especially when one needs to hide that tummy after a big dinner.

So, traditionally for Chinese / Lunar New Year, most of us would seek out some form of zodiac reading to determine what lies ahead for us for 2015 ( Year of the Goat). For those of you who are not as familiar with the Chinese Zodiac calendar, we have 12 Zodiac signs named after certain animals and there is a folklore behind why only these animals are represented in the chinese zodiac of 12 year cycles. They are namely: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog & Pig. You can find your zodiac sign based on your year of birth HERE.

Often with your zodiac signs, you will learn what you should or should not do for the year e.g career wise, luck in love and even simple things like what colours you should be using for the year to bring the most out of the year for your star sign. Compatibility signs with your partners are often indicated giving some direction to those die hard believers.

So, what are your wishes for the Year of the Goat? Personally for me, good health is always the most important followed by happiness, love and finally success in all I do.

So to add a little trivia to chinese superstition, I had great laughs with my friends over this topic recently and figured it would be fun to share with you. Do you know what your moles on your body signify for you and if it can tell your fortune?

Check out the significances here in this article by The Daily Mail - Click Here!  Hope you find some interesting facts about the moles on your body!

Wishing one and all a year of blessings and good health!!

Don't forget to enter the H&M Giveaway ( Link here). Contest runs till 6 March 2015.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Whistle a Happy Tune : Whistles Dress & Statement Jewels

Hi everyone.

Hope you guys are rocking your week stylishly.I recently discovered the Whistles brand of which their simplistic yet stylish outfits have gotten the better of me. Hence here is  my take on a Whistles dress which doubles up as a stylish office outfit that can take you from work to drinks and dinner. From the weekend to the weekday.

Just throw on a jacket and a scarf or an understated necklace for work. Swap the necklace for statement jewelry, red lips and a clutch and you have a sexy yet elegant outfit for the evening.

I dressed mine with wedges for the weekend out but had to add my touch of " loudness" with my new statement necklace which I love so much for its myriad of colours. You can always wear a hat, longer jacket ( aka Kate Middleton) and boots, and you have got yourself a nice Autumn outfit waiting to rock the town in.

For those of you who are not yet familiar with the Whistles brand - this high street UK brand has got their equation right of combining current trends with the right dose of elegance and sophistication. Even the Duchess of Cambridge ( Kate Middleton) has taken to this popular UK brand and have been seen wearing several of their outfits on various occasions.

Can you believe it - they even have a dress named ideally after me - "Simone Swing Shift Dress"... how apt is that? And in a style that works well for me.
