Call It The Blues

What a rough week ! I was down with a viral flu and lost my voice. Felt sick as a dog and yet having to pull myself through the day with daily routines of houswork, dog walks and seeing to the family meals wore me out totally!

The only colour I could see was just the blues... finally as I started to feel a little better - it was time to head out the doors for a little breather and a much needed good cup of coffee!

I have been seeing so many 11.11 sale specials from various online portals that it was driving me nuts! Wanting to buy so many things but it's just the pull and gimmick of getting an item on a sale ( I bet it was not that much of a discount to be very honest) that had me scrolling site after site for great deals and even adding stuff to my cart that I don't even need - just because it was on sale. Then just at the final moment when I was about to click " checkout" I had a moment of awakening and decided to clear the cart instead! And there you go... 11.11 singles day sale, nothing in the cart and no shopping done....

And that's why they call it the blues!!

Samba into Fall :: Stripe Off Shoulder Balloon Sleeve Top + Tassel Earrings

Hi everyone,

Indeed a sad day - the anniversary of 9/11. Been watching unreleased footage on TV all day and getting a little down for sure. Thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims affected by this tragedy.

For this post, here's my red, white and blue outfit to stand by the people of America and let them know we are with you on this sad day of remembrance. Pairing with this outfit is one of Fall's must-have accessory - the Tassel Earring.

Going out on a date night with my husband, this look was perfect for dinner and drinks.

Kept the rest of the outfit plain and simple so the top and tassel earrings would stand out and make a statement. Nude wedges and envelope clutch was the perfect combination to finish the look.

So in my last post, I was whinging a little about the hypocrisy of the human nature. To follow up on that comment - this last week, my eyes were opened even more to realise there is nothing I can do to change the way these people think and behave. I will not accept it, but I will also not let myself be pulled down by such primitive thinking and insecurities of others. These people lacking in confidence will never achieve much in life. Incessant whinging and moaning will get them nowhere and certainly not get them ahead in anything that they do. Hopefully they will realise it one day.

Back to the outfit, decking myself out in birthday pressies from lovely people in my life - earrings from a colleague, envelope clutch from an aunt and a pretty bracelet from a lovely couple.

Not forgetting to mention, these lovely Max Mara Wedges that was showcased in the Max Mara Preview Collection post ( check it out here & here).

Over the last week, I came across an online store - Stylewe.com which had lovely pretty bags, accessories and outfits ( some similar to designer items) at a fraction of the price. As always, my motto of " Get The Look for Less" prevails and so here are some lovely items I identified on their online store which you may be interested in.

As we enter into Fall, I am looking forward to trend trousers and pants, and these flared cut offs are so cute!

A classic pair of black culottes would be a wardrobe essential.

I don't know about you, but I do love jumpsuits and this 2 piece jumpsuit is a classic.

A lovely oriental style Bomber Jacket is perfect for those cooler days coming up.

Spotted these designer inspired bags on their site which is simply too pretty not to consider for adding that extra touch to your outfit.

Click on the pictures above to check out for more options and price list. Free shipping is also available with a minimum spend.

Have fun shopping !

Chanel Weekend :: Chanel Jumbo and Tassel Earrings

It's Sunday again and with the dampening weather, a little pick me up was much needed this weekend.

I received this beautiful vintage palace Chanel tassel earrings for a pressie and figured, why not let's go crazy and deck myself out in Chanel this weekend. Tassel earrings is another hot jewelry trend besides choker necklaces this season, so I started to go crazy stocking up on a few favourite and classic styles which I will showcase slowly in time with my outfit pairings.

Had this white off shoulder top for awhile from my lovely sponsor - Shein.com. The model online wore the blouse with the split opening in the front, but being a little conservative and too conscious of my tummy, I decided to flip the top over and wore the split at the back. Somehow, I love how it opens up at the back to reveal the sexiness of a woman's lower back.

Just needed to get this next thing off my chest, so why not in my blog? A perfect place for me to connect with my readers and perhaps seek your advise on how to manage this situation.

So, this last week particularly had been a little tough. Been feeling quite disappointed in the human nature. How people easily fold under pressure and succumb to gossiping in order to deal with their insecurities. I have learnt to realise this is the way the world goes round however, I just cannot help but be disappointed in the hypocrisy of people. Sigh....

Coincidentally, Black Eye Peas, just released a remake version of their hit "Where Is The Love" this last week too - so apt to hit the point that we need more love in this world and less viciousness.

So, tomorrow will be the start of a new week and I am looking forward to a fresh start again. Putting all negativity behind me.

Back to my outfit this weekend, since I was going vintage with the chanel earrings and the jumbo bag, so paired this look with my Gianvito Rossi peep toe bootie which was first seen back in Aug 2014 but still a hot favourite for those shoe connoisseurs out there.

I hope you enjoyed this outfit post and please do share with me how you deal with issues as I had faced above. Love to hear your opinions and suggestions.

Stripes & Bow

Good Tuesday to all of you,

Put up your hands those of you who love the Nautical theme? I, for one, do love this theme so much especially over Summer. The thought of imagining oneself on a junk boat trip or just travelling for the summer holidays to a nice resort or quiet getaway calls for that perfect " nautical" uniform to complete the holiday.

As you would have noticed, am lots into off shoulder tops this season, so here's a take on stripes for this summer. To add a little cuteness to the top, the big bow detail is pretty fun to have - and yes I do know it may work for only some of you but hey, what's fashion without some fun right?

Keeping accessories simple. Check out my lovely new Max Mara leather wedges I got recently at the Max Mara Preview Collection! The knot at the front just screams out "nautica" as well.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Summer's Hottest Trend :: Off Shoulder Top with Flare Sleeves

Hello, hello, hello!

What a week! Been so busy at work and working on collaborations for my blog that I hardly had the chance to put together an outfit post for a while. Before I begin, let me remind you that the last two series of COACH giveaways is still ongoing so log in your entries now. Just head over to my link on the navigation bar on " Current Giveaways" or click here to view.

Loving the off shoulder look which is Summer's hottest trend! Ideally so, when the weather is so HOT that bare shoulders does help to keep us slightly cool. Plus given now that I have cut my hair short for summer, it is such a nice feeling to go out in the heat feeling the breeze on my shoulders and neck. This beautiful Rosie Assoulin inspired top thrilled me when I received it in the mail.

Wanted to style this as a casual top, hence paired it with a nice comfy Calvin Klein shorts and my fedora hat from good old Uniqlo.

This style of off shoulder top is slightly different than the conventional gartered tube top style, which often rides up to your shoulders when you lift up your arms. The sleeves being non gartered and seperately stitched on to the main body of the outfit allows that flexibility of movement of the arms. And somehow its a sexier feel to your standard off shoulder top.

The flared sleeves is another hot summer trend to play with. The theatrical and dramatic effect of these sleeves is certainly one reason why I love this top so much.

Kept accessories to the same colour tone and paired it with my favourite sneakers for running around. Perfect outfit for summer holidays too !
