Fun Ways to Wear Leopard Print Trend

Whilst some of you had jumped on the bandwagon of trending animal prints this Fall, others may be a little apprehensive as it can be a little too much to put on a full outfit of leopard prints.

Don't get me wrong - I love leopard prints and animal prints like snake prints however, I was cautious this time around to invest in a full blown leopard print piece seeing that it's one of those " come and go" trends that turn around in a heartbeat. So, I decided to put this outfit together, getting into the whole trend of leopard prints but wearing it subtly in terms of pieces rather than a full outfit.

Found the perfect match in these beautiful faux fur pumps and belt and these leopard print drop earrings I had stashed away at the back of my earring drawer.

Moral of the story :: You certainly do not need to follow trends blindly but twist it to match your needs and the appropriateness of the climate you are in.

Tell me what you think of this trend and how you would style this look? Have fun playing with the leopard print trend!

My Favourite Fall Fashion Trends 2014 - Part 3

Hi everyone.

In this final instalment on " My Favourite Fall Fashion Trends - Part 3", I am looking forward to trending these easy styles of outfits for Fall 2014.

6. Pleats

7.Leopard Prints
Ooh, for those who know me well, I am into animal prints and the thought of trending Leopard Prints in Fall kinda excites me again as I have been going more minimalistic and neutral in my outfit patterns ( mainly opting for more plain structured cut outfits in order to trend my statement Summer Necklaces).

So here are some easy to find Leopard items you could mix and match with to trend this look for Fall 2014. I did stay away from Leopard Print Dresses simply because this print is so loud in itself and best to be worn as an accessory or single item piece rather than as a whole outfit. Its such a fine line between establishing a classic look/trend or looking trashy if you know what I mean.

8. Knits
So, what is so different about wearing knits this Autumn/ Winter 2014 - 2015 as to previous years?
As most of us would do, we would often mix and match and pair our knits with Jeans, Midi skirts, Leather pants etc...This year, the trend is to be decked out in knits ( preferably) from Head to Toe.

Found these easy to wear knit items that you could put together to achieve the Top-to-Toe Knitwear trend for Fall/Winter.

9. Sock in Shoe
Decided to highlight a funkier trend one could play with this Fall 2014. Besides the athletic gear / sporty outfit looks, here's a cool one that would be quite fun to play around with.

Perfect for this in-between season and getting a longer wear out of your open toe heels and sandals.

Remember the main rules, either go bold and bright or neutral and classic / monochrome.

10. Stripes
Another popular style trend that is a classic, season after season. Try mix and matching various sizes of stripes in an outfit or work with stripes in various colours to refresh this style.

Check out my styleboard to Style Stripes on Polyvore.

Enjoy trending for Fall 2014 and do share with me your favourite Fall Fashion Trends you will be styling!

How to Style A Denim Shirt : Chambray Shirt and Leopard Print

It's the weekend again everyone!

Was just going through my closet for a weekend outfit and realise I have a number of Denim shirts in various styles and fabrics. A Denim / Chambray Shirt is always a staple one should have in the closet anyways. It can easily be worn as a jacket, tied at the waist for a cool beach look, buttoned up and tucked in to a midi/ maxi skirt for that slight edge to an elegant outfit or simply worn over a pair of jeans. So many ways to style a chambray denim shirt.

Took these pictures some time back in Florida during one of our trips home, so you would notice my hair was much longer than ( boo hoo hoo.....) but I still love this simple combination.

Colour Me Happy!

Hi everyone. Trying my best as promised to keep my posts more consistent. Went out today with Rebecca ( one of the models for Foster Bay) and decided to take some shots as we walked past some cool heritage homes in Singapore.

These Peranakan conservation homes are so retro in feel and colourful in many ways - we just couldn't help but take a couple of shots with such a unique background to work with. As a Peranakan ( Straits Born Chinese), I am proud of my heritage and the culture that is only to be found in Asia particular in Malaysia, Singapore and perhaps a small part of Indonesia. Therefore, the style of homes, architecture and motifs as well as colours are so vibrant and inviting it had to be captured for memory sake. So enjoy....

How to wear Leopard Print heels with your summer outfits.

Been busy all weekend playing around with a new header and background for my blog. And I finally bought myself my very first DSLR camera, a Nikon D3200 - though am still learning how to use it and take my own outfit shots ( which ain't easy for now!). As I am still learning the ropes on being a blogger and updating the look and feel of my posts so do be patient with me if you see weird stuff going on, as you are reading the posts.

In this post I would like to share bargain steals which I got and how I mix and match them to my summer outfits. Recently I had grabbed a great bargain for a pair of leopard print shoes at a 24hr Department Store - "Mustafa" here in Singapore. Can't imagine why being a Singaporean, I never really took the time and trouble to go and venture into this mall tucked away in Little India. But my dear friend Carla has been telling me about how one needs to keep one's eyes open to find good deals at this store. She even brings guests from overseas there to shop for Linen PJs etc...

So I finally ventured off to Mustafa one recent morning and found so many interesting things there especially my beautiful pair of low heel leopard print shoes for.... { drumroll} ( get ready !!) S$ 16.90 ( US$ 13). Yes!! I couldn't believe it either.

OUTFIT 1 : SHEER VICTORIAN AND LEOPARD SPOTS

OUTFIT NO. 2 : BOYFRIEND JEANS & LEOPARD SPOTS

Weather was a lil cooler today so decided to put on my baggy, torn and washed out boyfriend jeans with the classic white shirt for the day. Added a tribal accented necklace for that summer edge since tribal prints are very IN at the moment.

Another great buy which I must share with you. It has to be said, the Hermes Birken inspired bag was a STEAL from the Salvation Army for ...[ drumroll again...] US$ 2.50! Yes ! US$ 2.50!! Got it in Florida whilst we were there 7 years ago at a flea mart. I love this bag for it's colour and its durability! I do use it so often as it can carry quite a fair bit in it and yet no signs of it retiring any time soon. Good ole SALVO!!

So you see. For those of you who are afraid to wear animal prints in case it does makes you look like the animal itself, you can easily fashion trend this style by going slow and easy just with accessories.  Honestly, you don't need to blow a large sum of money to fashion trend, so go play around and enjoy Leopard print trending!

Would love for you to share with me on how you leopard print trend with your summer outfits. Better if it comes with a small price tag. Hope to hear from you soon!

Love, Simone
