Feeling Ethnic :: Shein.com Embroidered Loose Dress ( Featured)

Hi everyone.

I hope all of you are keeping warm with the crazy changes in weather over in the States. And for those of you here in Hong Kong, experiencing chills which was last felt this cold almost 60 years ago.

As promised in a previous post, this is the second outfit by the kind people at Shein.com who had sent me 2 outfits to showcase to my readers. If you had missed the first one, click here to read the post.

Obviously this picture was taken just before the cold snap hit. With Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day just around the corner, many of you here in Asia are starting to get new clothes and prep for the big festival. Naturally, online shopping seems to be a good way to pick up great bargains and of course, with the mercury dropping - getting new stuff from the comfort of the warmth of your homes seem to be the best bet for the moment.

Although traditionally, wearing black on new year's is pretty much frowned upon in chinese culture, however these days many of the younger generation have broken that " rule". So why not consider this outfit which has a little ethnic influence for the new year. If you do not celebrate Chinese New Year, this is certainly a nice little black number for that romantic Valentine's Dinner with that special someone. Great length, perfect with heels and an easy to go from Dinner to Drinks/ Dance after outfit.

Am loving the embroidered detailing on the hemline of this loose dress. It was cut loose and pretty A-line in shape therefore, I decided to belt it up with my leather obi belt to cinch in the waist for an elegant touch to this dress.

I had also purchased these cute little tassles for hooking on to the zippers of my clutch for a DIY change to some of them. Whilst styling for this outfit post I found a totally different purpose for them this time. Hooking them up as tassles to a simple stiletto heels for that party look.

My girlfriend recently sent me this necklace from Thailand which was so ideal to pair it with this dress to bring out that whole ethnic feel in the outfit. This Swarovski inspired style of jelly stacked bangles in rose gold completed the whole look.

Black & White :: Shein.com Black Dress with White Pleat Sleeve Cuff + Over the Knee Boots ( Featured)

Thursday, January 14, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 20 Comments

Hi everyone !

Trust 2016 has been looking up for you so far - as it has for me. Been working on more collaborations for 2016 and have been kindly receiving some lovely gifts to highlight in my fashion blog posts recently.

Today, I will be introducing you to another online store - Shein.com ( previously known as sheinside.com) of which the kind people there have sent me 2 lovely dresses to showcase to my readers.

Both dresses are in my favourite black hue and I wanted to bring this first look to you and styling it with the latest over-the-knee boots trend, which certainly had me stopping by the Stuart Weitzman billboards over the last quarter of 2015, just to gawk at those lovely SW5050 boots - not to mention the gorgeous Gisele Bundchen! Wishing I had legs as long and beautiful as hers.... well at least I can pretend.

This was supposedly a dress as listed on the website, however it came slightly short of what I would be comfortable of as a dress length. Nonetheless, a little black leggings or tights wouldn't hurt to help one feel " secure" in this small number.

If you have been following my Instagram account, I had once posted a picture of myself wearing an almost similar dress by " Victoria by Victoria Beckham". The designer dress had white pleated bell cuff sleeves that were cut longer and of course the dress was in crepe fabric rather than cotton. Although this item was listed as polyester without stretch but it turned out to be more like a t-shirt cotton material with a rounded collar which didn't impress me too much when I first opened the bag. However, with proper styling it somehow worked itself how in the total look and feel.

So now let's talk over-the-knee boots! I am loving this suede pair so much and though there are many similar styles out in the shops but remember to get one with the right fit so it doesn't bite at the ankles or wrap too tight around the calves. An easy to match boot style this Winter, try trending with short skirts, dresses or even over pants or jeans. Just be careful when mix and matching as there is a fine line with this style of boots between looking raunchy as in " Pretty Woman" or slightly sophisticated...

Would like to take this opportunity to highlight this new lip colour from Maybelline " Lipgradation"  ( as released in Asia) or " Lip Studio Color Blur" ( as seen on their website) which I simply love! This shade is called " Orange" and it's an orangey red hue which is the latest colour you would see many celebrities trending instead of chilli red this winter.

A lovely matte texture which does not bleed at the edge of your lips and the cream pencil style lipstick comes with a sponge tip on the other end for easy blending around the edges.

Back to my lovely gift from Shein.com. All new customers get to enjoy a 40% off on all first time orders. Free shipping is available for all orders above US$ 30 and if you spend US$ 99 and above, express 3 day shipping is free too! So go get those latest trends and looks for LESS!!

Just click on the pictures above or on the link below and have fun shopping!!

Happy 2016!

Tuesday, January 05, 2016 Simone - Your Style Architect 11 Comments

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year !! Into the first few days of the work and school week of 2016. Didn't get to do a post on my New Year's Party outfit as I was down sick again and did not  get the chance to head out for any parties.... sigh....

As temperatures slowly drop ( it's been a pretty warm Christmas and New Year), here's a look to inspire for those casual weekends or a day out for shopping.

If you had not already known, " burnt orange" is the new trending shade for Winter 2015- 2016. So I decided to bring out the bronze tones with my bronze clutch and brown leather calf high boots.

Keeping the outfit to an earthy bronzy tone - threw on this lighter beige outerwear for a somewhat cooler morning. Kept accessories to golden hues in line with the bronze/ orange tone. This clutch is an old favourite from Aldo. I love how old favourites add something different to new outfits.

As always, I love stacking my bangles and the lovely new circle pendant necklace was a nice gift from ASOS. Simply love them all.

I hope you like this outfit and why don't you try trending Burnt Orange items in your outfit this Winter.

To help inspire you, here are some great buys I found online to add to your closet to start trending.

Clockwise from top left :: ZARA // Lulu Guinness // Wolf and Badger // Alloy Apparel
