Feeling Like A Maharani !

Hi everyone,

As the Indian Festival of Lights is fast approaching, otherwise known as Diwali/ Deepavali, here in Singapore, many of my Indian friends are already busy preparing for this big occasion. Thank god that the pandemic is pretty much in control in Singapore and we can still meet in groups of no more than 5 persons. Therefore many are planning little get together luncheons, family gatherings adhering to the strict rules and definitely mask wearing but at least the festive mood will not be dampened by this horrible pandemic that has taken over the world literally!

So on this note, I decided for the first time to deck myself out in full traditional Indian garb as I have always loved colours and Indian style clothing has always been so vibrant and intricate with their embroideries and beading that it was definitely a look I had to style at least once in my lifetime on my blog.

Feeling every bit like a Maharani on the marble steps of the Taj Mahal, I donned on this Lehenga outfit above with a matching stole and I was literally blown away at how elegant I felt and moved and look in this gorgeous and stunning design by Ritu Pande. You can see more of her designs here on her website Ritu Pande Official and do note that she does ship internationally too. However if you are based in Singapore, she is showcasing now at The AC Raffles for the month of October 2020 and you can always get your items altered within a few days or customised orders may take 2 - 3 weeks.

I love how even the back of the blouse has such amazing detailing like the pretty bow which just adds that level of sweetness to this look.

Now, whilst many of us who are non-Indians do love and appreciate the finery of Indian traditional wear, however to invest in one for just one occasion may seem a little too much and often we do get invited to events which we would love to dress up for the occasion. So here I decided to showcase how you can stretch that dollar of yours in this investment piece and mix and match the Lehenga skirt with western style tops for a different look or perhaps for a different occasion - like year end festivities / Christmas party or new year get together.

This time, I paired it with a fuchsia silk blouse and all the stunning jewellery you see showcased today on this blog post is by House of Rajput. Again, if you are based in Singapore, they are also hosting a pop up at The AC Raffles for the month of October 2020 for you to check out their gorgeous pieces for your year end outfit pairings or as Christmas presents. Seeing we cannot travel as easily to meet friends and family for the holidays, then why not pick out something pretty and unique from Singapore with love to send them - all over the world.

Finally, who says one can't wear a traditional Indian Lehenga as a casual maxi skirt? Well, here's another look to inspire you just pairing this amazing Lehenga with this cowl neck spaghetti strap top ( available at The AC Raffles) and pairing with a statement tribal style necklace from House of Rajput, I most certainly would wear this out to a casual brunch or lunch with friends. You can even style it down further with sandals instead of heels. Look at the pretty tassel as well on the skirt - for sure this outfit would be a show stopper and you will be stopped to be asked about this amazing skirt whenever and wherever you style it.

If you would like to see this skirt in its full action - check out my IGTV which I had posted on this look and on this pop up event. So enjoy and hope you will check out these amazing designs online or in store now.

Rock Chic Style

Hi everyone,

How has your weekend been treating you so far?

Feeling a rock chic vibe today, so bringing you this casual outfit that is so cool and comfy but yet with a twist with crystal statement jewellery from House of Rajput. I do love a good pair of statement earrings which has versatility. By that, I mean that I can easily wear it with a casual outfit ( in this case -  you can't get more casual than a pair of jeans) but yet, I can also style the earrings with an evening outfit. These Kira Hoop earrings from House of Rajput is one such earring that fits the bill. I love how it is edgy in its own right and therefore is able to bring an outfit together.

Many of you perhaps are not as comfortable with brooches as it is a piece of jewellery that not many people would style with their wardrobes unless with an evening outfit or a work suit. This Sol brooch also from House of Rajput is particularly unique because it comes in a 2 part design. Therefore giving it some texture and flow rather than a solid brooch which most of us are use to. I tried to play around with the brooch to this casual outfit by pinning it onto my cap or option 2, onto my jeans - a quirky yet unique way to make a statement. For those of you who loves to trend turbans or perhaps you do wear a headscarf, this brooch is also the perfect accessory to dress up your outfit.

Threw on this chic cotton kimono for some pattern and colour variation to this pairing and we got ourselves a rock chic loo, ready to head out the door. Of course let us not forget that these handwoven and crafted boots from The Tui Collection says it all to complete the outfit.

What do you think?

Summer Floral Printed Dress

Earrings : Esme Crystal / House of Rajput ( available here)

Hi everyone,

As many of our countries are slowly opening up, this is the time when we can get dressed up again and head outdoors. I do love maxi dresses a lot and when the owner of Linen & More approached me to style this dress - I was extremely delighted.

The silkiness of the material makes it such a comfy dress to style during the heat of summer. Now when comes to jewellery pairing, most people would not dare to think of pairing statement jewellery with a printed dress but as many of you know me - more is more - and so this stunning pair of Kira Hoop Earrings from Esme Crystals which is available from House Of Rajput, is the perfect pair of earrings to style with this dress. Its edgy design yet classy design with the peppering of crystals brings out both the femininity of the dress as well as yet add that touch of elegance to this classic summer dress.

Simple yet elegant sandals from Bayou Soles completes the look and the pairing with a statement bucket bag makes this look standout from the crowd. However, like the angel that dresses the Christmas Tree, I had to bring out this edgy belt that I got from my favourite vintage store  - A Vintage Tale to complete this total look.

Simone xoxo

Hey everyone,

I have been pretty busy the last week working with local brands and businesses which require so much of our support at this time. Anything I could do to help I was more than happy to since we are all still on an extended Circuit Breaker / Lockdown in Singapore.

If you have been following me on Instagram, I had showcased this gorgeous necklace from House of Rajput with a short " How To Style" video on this, but here it is for those of you who are not following me on that platform. This stunning piece made up of brass beaten coins reflecting roman style motifs is such a gorgeous statement piece to dress up any outfit. In this post, I am showcasing the formal look however I will bring you the casual / dress down look shortly. However you can check it out on my Instagram feed and IGTV which I will highlight the link below.

House of Rajput,  is a multi-label contemporary jewellery brand based here in Singapore. They work with independent jewellery designers and artisans from India to bring India's rich heritage of craftsmanship to the world.  Noticing a gap for affordable bespoke statement jewellery in Singapore, Jia of House of Rajput wanted to create an accessories one-stop shop and curate a selection of statement pieces showcasing these gorgeous pieces at affordable prices - with the mindset of empowering women!

Back to the necklace, this stunning piece comes in 3 options of colour and they use 100% vegan leather in the production of this piece. I love how the length of the necklace could be adjusted for one to wear it more choker style against a high collared outfit or perhaps lower to highlight the décolletage of a low neck outfit.

This maxi dress was a swop from The Fashion Pulpit and I am so glad to have gotten it! It worked perfectly with this necklace and kept the look, simple yet elegant. Keeping the look vintage in line with the necklace, I paired it with a midollino bag from A Vintage Tale and kept my shoes simple and classic from Saks.

For first time customers, House of Rajput is offering a 10% off your first purchase and they do ship worldwide so do go and check them out for their beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces to call your own!

Now most ladies may be a little worried about trending statement necklaces as they do not wish to look like a Christmas Tree during the day time or wondering how often can they wear such necklaces out and about - only to reserve it for special occasions. However I kid you not, paired with the right outfit, you can easily trend and style this gorgeous necklace for daytime wear as well. You can get a short preview of the casual look on my video but do stay tune for the post.

Meanwhile, do follow me on Instagram to enjoy my many " How To Style" videos. And here is the link below for the looks I have featured this necklace on.

I hope you enjoyed the video and watch this space for more exciting jewellery pieces coming your way soon from House of Rajput.

Love,
Simone xoxo
