Hi everyone and hope you are keeping safe this weekend especially if you are in the USA where I see many reports of protests happening lately. The last picture above was particularly shot in a dark hue as a reflection of  all that's been going on with racism and the fight for #AllLivesMatter in these last 2 weeks. I particularly shot this look wearing a mask - firstly to continue to highlight that the pandemic is still a key concern with a big change to the world and all our lives. Also, wearing a mask reflects the "masking" of one's voice and for many wearing a mask is so uncomfortable. Many can't breathe easily with a mask on and feel like they are gasping for air - akin to poor George Floyd who had his breath taken away from him in a silent but lethal way. Just bringing to the forefront things I have been extremely affected by of late.

Before I continue with this outfit post, just wanted to add that staying at home for me has had its advantages and in many ways I am a little apprehensive after being stuck at home for almost 2.5 months to head out into the " wild" again. Whilst, many parts of the world now are slowly opening up for businesses, domestic travel and even for leisure activities such as beaches and sports arenas,  here in Singapore, we are only in our first phase of opening up since the recent 2 month circuit breaker and although it is a welcome change that psychologically we are freer, however we have yet to seriously be able to move out and about as freely as we used to with only essential services like schools and certain business opening. Retail is still struggling except for online sales.

I do not know about you - but to a certain extent, I have adjusted more to online purchasing and going digital in more aspects of my life than I would have done so had this whole pandemic not occurred. The good thing is that many retailers are well aware of the uncertainty that some people experience shopping online especially with sizing etc therefore if you have a good return and exchange policy - this would certainly help push for more sales online as people are less afraid to be adventurous and purchase items knowing they can at least get a refund or exchange for a more fitting size.

So when the circuit breaker aka lockdown first kicked in in Singapore, I was excited to start trending masks. I know many people hate wearing it but you have to admit, this is the new normal and to protect yourselves, it is best to put on a mask when out in public. So why not do it in style and here, I started playing with various patterns and shapes of masks just to get myself happy wearing them especially if they become a part of my wardrobe ( like my jewellery or bag). My first love with masks started with Al.Ma.Lu fabric masks of which they fit well and had tiny detailing like Swarovski crystal and embroidered flowers to lift my moods.  Their various options of patterns and colours got me going crazy. Obviously now every other retailer are selling recyclable face masks and rightfully so as it is also helping to upcycle leftover fabrics from their clothing items.

Keeping this look fun and trendy -  one where you can take to run errands and school runs, is this vintage pinafore dress I got from A Vintage Tale sometime ago and paired it with this lace top from H&M. Always needing to add some oomph to the outfit, I used this gorgeous silk scarf from Fernweh Souls to wear as a headscarf to create the boho feel and finished off the look with these funky fringe tassel slides from Bayou Soles.

Let me know how you are coping now with the gradual return to some form of normalcy wherever you are. And do continue to stay safe and vigilant.

Love,
Simone xoxo

How To Style A Floral Wrap Dress As An Outerwear Wear

Hi everyone,

As Summer is round the corner and with budgets tightened to spend on a new summer wardrobe especially during this trying time for many of us, I thought it would be nice to bring you a look which you could stretch your dollar with and show you how to restyle a wrap dress as an outerwear.

So, this gorgeous floral cotton wrap dress aka the perfect summer dress, has been converted to an outerwear and I paired this with a simple crop tee and wide leg crop pants to bring this whole look together. Bringing out the colours in the dress, I particularly chose this funky mesh necklace from Betsey Johnson and a blue mesh bracelet from Swarovski to complete this outfit. Of course to make one look taller, always bring the colour of the skirt or pants all the way down to the heels to lengthen the look.

For those of you who have been following me, you will notice I have gone a little more creative this time with my look, playing with bold and bright pink eyeshadow for a change and of course my prop of a bunch of pink flowers was added to bring out the quirkiness in this new direction I am taking with my shoots. A little more fun, more editorial. Due to the lockdown I had to keep taking shots within my home and it got kinda boring for me to be doing my traditional fashion shots, so decided to go quirky this time.

I hope you enjoyed this look and watch this space as I bring you another post  soon, where I do wear the dress and style it as it is, on its own.

Do leave me a comment and let me know if you like this bolder and more creative style of my shots.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Happy weekend everyone.

As it's Hari Raya today or Eid Mubarak, here in Singapore we have a long weekend off. So whilst taking things a little more chill this weekend, thought I would bring you this look which you can be inspired to style as soon as the lockdown is lifted, come 2 June 2020. Ok, I know it will be in stages before we are all free to run about town like as if nothing happened.. yet I am sure you can still trend this if you need to head to somewhere a little more classier or just to cheer you up since things are getting better.

More importantly whatever you do, please do keep this habit going for now at least - to ALWAYS WEAR A MASK! And for those of you having to head back to work, this would be a great chance to get dressed up and masked up fashionably to lift your spirits and mood. This gorgeous mask is from Al.Ma.Lu Boutique which is designed by a gorgeous Italian, Martina who is currently based in Singapore. I fell in love with Martina's elegant and classy patterned masks and was so drawn to it ( I think I have maybe 6 of her masks now in my household). This one even has small coloured crystal stones on it, whilst others have small flowers embroidered on one corner of the masks. Just makes my day wearing them!

The fit and that it does not pull on the ears was perfect for me and why not add more colour to this gorgeous outfit by Love,Bonito with the mask. Statement sleeves is one of my weaknesses and this top I love sooo much as I can wear the sleeves off shoulder or further up on the shoulders to create different feel to the outfit. Of course the yellow accessories of this vintage bag and the Zara heels all adds to complete the look.

Let us not forget that even with wearing a mask, one can always still style statement earrings. I am sure many of you do not bother seeing that the masks will take centrestage or the earrings will get caught up with the loops of the mask, but hey, I am not a " style architect" if I can't tell you - YES, YOU CAN!! And these gorgeous faux pearl earrings is the cutest pair which I can easily flex each branch to suit my look. With all that's happening with the mask and the earrings - I figured a dainty multi pearl necklace from Embrace Jewellery would nicely fit into the whole scene since the neckline is quite low and allows for just 1 more girl to join the party.

Again, of course with mask wearing, many would not consider wearing lip colours out and about and for fear of staining their cloth masks - but a little colour on the lips when you can remove your masks does help. Let's say for a zoom call in the privacy of your home or from your personal office space in the office where you can work without your mask on. That little colour on your lips would definitely perk you up when you are on a call for sure. This stunning shade of Dusty Rose from Amplio Beauty is the most versatile of the colours they have cos it's strong enough to have an impact yet subtle enough to be worn daily.

I know for a fact that A Vintage Tale, Al.Ma.Lu Boutique and Amplio Beauty all offer international shipping, and for those based in Singapore -  free local shipping for some of them. So go check them out and get yourselves geared up ready for the lift of the Circuit Breaker!!

Pearly Whites :: Freshwater Pearl Tassel Necklace + Stripe Skirt Pairing

Necklace : Maarz Pearls ( ON SALE - get it here
Ring: old ( similar here)
Shoes : The Tui Collection ( ON SALE - get it here

Hi everyone,

The weekend has come and gone quickly and I was indeed kept extremely busy working on my content for next week's schedule! Excited... you should be cos I have so many amazing items to showcase to you and I just want to do them all at once!!

This outfit was a challenge by a girlfriend on Instagram who had asked me to style a black and white stripe skirt as the challenge in 3 different ways. Do check out my post here for the 3 styles I had put together. The first way I have styled this skirt was to start with the comfort zone colour combination, and in this case - a "no brainer" of a black coloured top.

Trying to keep the look classic - I styled it with this gorgeous single tassel freshwater baroque pearl and crystal necklace from Maarz Pearls. Most people often associate pearl necklaces and jewellery with the older generation but let me tell you this - designed in contemporary style and paired with the right outfit, these pieces can be equally as stylish for a 20 yr old as it would for an 80 yr old. After all, even vintage is IN now, so what more pearls?

What I love about this particular tassel necklace is that each pearl is so uniquely shaped and the contemporary design of the necklace mixed with the the black and green crystals as well as the gold chain certainly adds some pop of colour to a monochrome outfit. And whilst we are at it with pops of colour, I just had to finish the look with this gorgeous pair of heels from The Tui Collection which is so aptly called " Simone Heels". The black and gold combination of this leather pair of sexy heels perfectly carries the look through. How can I not style it then?

Back to this stunning necklace - this Baroque tassel necklace from Maarz Pearls is from their Ottoman collection. A local label based in Singapore, all of their jewellery are handmade using silver and 18K gold plating. Each of these unique pieces is put together using freshwater pearls and multi gem stones and crystals. Therefore, no 2 pieces of jewellery are the same and Maryam the designer and owner of Maarz Pearls very rarely repeats a collection. I always believe one should have a variety of jewellery types in one's jewellery box that you can play with in different ways with your outfit and if there is one pearl necklace you should own - this would definitely be a classic to own! The versatility of this necklace where you can play with the necklace length by double twisting it to be worn as a choker or half length necklace to mix and match with different neckline outfits - makes it an investment piece for sure.

Do watch this space as I will bring you other variations on how you can style this lovely necklace from Maarz Pearls. With Mother's Day around the corner and since we are all in lockdown - why not consider a lovely pieces of freshwater pearl necklace or bracelet for Mom to cheer her up during this slightly sadder times. Now, at the time this post is published, Maarz Pearl is offering a storewide 15% discount on their items - no code required upon checkout. Perfect for you to grab yourself a great deal for a gorgeous piece of arm or neck candy for Mom! Or perhaps a dainty little pair of earrings!!

Maarz Pearls also offers free domestic and international shipping with a minimum spend - so for those of you based overseas, you can still very easily get your hands on these stunning pieces to add to your jewellery box!

I hope you enjoyed this post and look forward to bringing you more stunning jewellery pieces for you to consider in the next few posts!

Love,
Simone xoxo

Money, Money Money :: Black Maxi Dress + Statement Brass Beaten Coin Necklace

Necklace : House of Rajput ( get it here)
Bag : A Vintage Tale ( similar here)
Ring : Shein ( similar here)
Hey everyone,

I have been pretty busy the last week working with local brands and businesses which require so much of our support at this time. Anything I could do to help I was more than happy to since we are all still on an extended Circuit Breaker / Lockdown in Singapore.

If you have been following me on Instagram, I had showcased this gorgeous necklace from House of Rajput with a short " How To Style" video on this, but here it is for those of you who are not following me on that platform. This stunning piece made up of brass beaten coins reflecting roman style motifs is such a gorgeous statement piece to dress up any outfit. In this post, I am showcasing the formal look however I will bring you the casual / dress down look shortly. However you can check it out on my Instagram feed and IGTV which I will highlight the link below.

House of Rajput,  is a multi-label contemporary jewellery brand based here in Singapore. They work with independent jewellery designers and artisans from India to bring India's rich heritage of craftsmanship to the world.  Noticing a gap for affordable bespoke statement jewellery in Singapore, Jia of House of Rajput wanted to create an accessories one-stop shop and curate a selection of statement pieces showcasing these gorgeous pieces at affordable prices - with the mindset of empowering women!

Back to the necklace, this stunning piece comes in 3 options of colour and they use 100% vegan leather in the production of this piece. I love how the length of the necklace could be adjusted for one to wear it more choker style against a high collared outfit or perhaps lower to highlight the décolletage of a low neck outfit.

This maxi dress was a swop from The Fashion Pulpit and I am so glad to have gotten it! It worked perfectly with this necklace and kept the look, simple yet elegant. Keeping the look vintage in line with the necklace, I paired it with a midollino bag from A Vintage Tale and kept my shoes simple and classic from Saks.

For first time customers, House of Rajput is offering a 10% off your first purchase and they do ship worldwide so do go and check them out for their beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces to call your own!

Now most ladies may be a little worried about trending statement necklaces as they do not wish to look like a Christmas Tree during the day time or wondering how often can they wear such necklaces out and about - only to reserve it for special occasions. However I kid you not, paired with the right outfit, you can easily trend and style this gorgeous necklace for daytime wear as well. You can get a short preview of the casual look on my video but do stay tune for the post.

Meanwhile, do follow me on Instagram to enjoy my many " How To Style" videos. And here is the link below for the looks I have featured this necklace on.

I hope you enjoyed the video and watch this space for more exciting jewellery pieces coming your way soon from House of Rajput.

Love,
Simone xoxo

Hello my good people !

I bet many of you are like me - staying at home and basically in a lockdown mode still. I have been feeling quite sluggish and lazy, just busy cooking, cleaning and with everyone home somehow I feel like I have so much to do and so little time for my passion and for myself. So, I have been trying to find my mojo back and indeed the motivation comes from knowing I can still support my favourite local brands from the comfort of my own home.

Many of these smaller boutiques and retail outlets are suffering especially as retail shopping is not an ESSENTIAL and hence many of them are not able to open their stores during this lockdown period. Nonetheless, with the easy access of online shopping, you can still do your little part to support your local brands and let them know you still care. Many of them are also giving back to society from their online sales e.g a certain % going to buy a meal for those in 3rd world countries or perhaps to support healthcare workers or provide PPE gear for healthcare workers and so forth. Many are also putting some contributions towards supporting low income families to tie over this volatile period. So whilst you enjoy a little pick me up from home, know you are also helping someone that needs your help too through your online purchases and giving back to society.

Back to this look, I was sent this pretty pair of earrings from @shoplustre ( Lustre Jewellery). This gorgeous cascading triple flower blossoms which ends at the end with a beautiful pearl is such a statement piece to style. Like a little surprise at the end of a rainbow, I need not say more - for many of you would know - MORE IS MORE! So a full on evening look was what I had in mind to showcase these earrings! Also in today's post,  I wanted to showcase to you a range of beauty products from newly launched Amplio Beauty by Nmita where she has a gorgeous range of palettes to choose from, not forgetting a must-have beauty product - her Lip Stylo and Lipstays.

Keeping it line with the Grecian Goddess vibe I am getting from pairing these gorgeous floral earrings, I decided to continue to add a gold touch to the outfit by cinching the waist with this vintage scale patterned stretch belt from A Vintage Tale. My favourite go-to vintage boutique here in Singapore, they are now hosting a 50% off online this weekend and this gorgeous belt was one of my flash sale buys at the store. The jacket was a past season item from River Island of which this 80s style puff shoulders were such a rage then and now it's all coming back again full cycle. A perfect blazer to add sophistication to any outfit. And finally a pair of platform keyhole leather pumps to complete the look, with a small top handle bag. It's like an 80s revival but yet classic enough to style in the 2020s.

As this is an evening look, therefore this smokey style eye makeup is from the same Tropical Singapore palette which I have used to style for my casual day looks. Naturally pairing it with Amplio's divine Lip Stylos and Lipstays was a no brainer. Keeping the look sophisticated and classic,  I chose the Ruby Berry Lip Stylo and Lipstay to complete my makeup.  It was so smooth in its application and I could even use the Lip Stylo to colour in my lips for longer lasting base wear and it does not feel or appear dry at all. I love this dark shade of burgundy red - very seductive!!

If you have been following me on Instagram, you would have viewed my IGTV on the "One Outfit - 3 Makeup looks"  featuring Amplio Beauty products. This was my third look featured on the video where I chose to create 3 different looks for a locally bought cotton jumpsuit and mix and match lip stays from Amplio Beauty to inspire you on how to play with makeup for different looks to an outfit. Here's the video below if you had missed it.

I hope you will find this makeup review useful and if you are based in Singapore, why not pamper yourselves during this Circuit Breaker period and add some colour to your life with a beautiful Lipstay from Amplio Beauty. If accessories are more of your thing - check out Lustre Jewellery for an amazing range of statement jewellery. They are hosting a tiered sale over and on top of their current sale items which is just too good to be true - items up to 50% off! So why don't you take
this chance to grab a gorgeous piece to add to your wardrobe seeing that many of these sale pieces will not be repeated again in their new collections and definitely not at this great and affordable price range.

So, enjoy this post and meanwhile stay safe and stay positive guys!

Love,
Simone xoxo
