A sad week with the passing of Karl Lagerfeld - known for his very classic and stylish designs. The way he had reinvented the fashion houses of Fendi and Chanel certainly makes him a legend in his own right. Therefore, gaining inspiration from him in reviving classic styles, I decided to bring back a classic style of outfit  - the trench, in today's post !

With the scorching hot weather of 34 - 35 degrees daily, it really is quite difficult to walk out in the heat without a hat or an umbrella to shield from the stinking heat. Olive has always been a favourite colour of mine, and matching this off shoulder trench style of dress by CAARA this outfit certainly provides a stylish respite to the warm heat. The twist off a classic trench jacket reveals an off shoulder number which can be worn so comfortably for weekend dressing.

I kept the look minimal and chic with Chanel espadrilles, a classic wide brim hat and a wooden bangle for accessories.  A tassel fringed Gucci tote was ideal to add some texture and colour to the look.

Walking through the quaint  and once old, sleepy neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru in central Singapore, I chanced upon beautiful murals on the wall and lovely retro style cafes which propped up side by side to residential homes. I love how the area still kept its old rustic charm, yet making it very relatable to the new generation with book stores, funky cafes and the much hyped Tiong Bahru Market where it's most famous for it's roast meat stall and steam rice cakes.

There were many murals on the walls which made it all the more interesting to explore this neighbourhood especially for taking pictures. So, I finished off the post with a little tete a tete with the old " uncles " on the wall having a little "laugh" over their coffee talk! It was a fun day out exploring Tiong Bahru estate. So if you are living in Singapore, take some time to explore this lovely neighbourhood. Or add it to your Must See / Do list when next in town.

Love,
Simone xoxo

  5. Oh this is such a chic casual look. The Gucci bag and Chanel shoes are killer and perfect to offset the more dressed down trench dress. Love it! And yes very sad about Karl Lagerfeld
