Black & White :: Shein.com Black Dress with White Pleat Sleeve Cuff + Over the Knee Boots ( Featured)

Hi everyone !

Trust 2016 has been looking up for you so far - as it has for me. Been working on more collaborations for 2016 and have been kindly receiving some lovely gifts to highlight in my fashion blog posts recently.

Today, I will be introducing you to another online store - Shein.com ( previously known as sheinside.com) of which the kind people there have sent me 2 lovely dresses to showcase to my readers.

Both dresses are in my favourite black hue and I wanted to bring this first look to you and styling it with the latest over-the-knee boots trend, which certainly had me stopping by the Stuart Weitzman billboards over the last quarter of 2015, just to gawk at those lovely SW5050 boots - not to mention the gorgeous Gisele Bundchen! Wishing I had legs as long and beautiful as hers.... well at least I can pretend.

This was supposedly a dress as listed on the website, however it came slightly short of what I would be comfortable of as a dress length. Nonetheless, a little black leggings or tights wouldn't hurt to help one feel " secure" in this small number.

If you have been following my Instagram account, I had once posted a picture of myself wearing an almost similar dress by " Victoria by Victoria Beckham". The designer dress had white pleated bell cuff sleeves that were cut longer and of course the dress was in crepe fabric rather than cotton. Although this item was listed as polyester without stretch but it turned out to be more like a t-shirt cotton material with a rounded collar which didn't impress me too much when I first opened the bag. However, with proper styling it somehow worked itself how in the total look and feel.

So now let's talk over-the-knee boots! I am loving this suede pair so much and though there are many similar styles out in the shops but remember to get one with the right fit so it doesn't bite at the ankles or wrap too tight around the calves. An easy to match boot style this Winter, try trending with short skirts, dresses or even over pants or jeans. Just be careful when mix and matching as there is a fine line with this style of boots between looking raunchy as in " Pretty Woman" or slightly sophisticated...

Would like to take this opportunity to highlight this new lip colour from Maybelline " Lipgradation"  ( as released in Asia) or " Lip Studio Color Blur" ( as seen on their website) which I simply love! This shade is called " Orange" and it's an orangey red hue which is the latest colour you would see many celebrities trending instead of chilli red this winter.

A lovely matte texture which does not bleed at the edge of your lips and the cream pencil style lipstick comes with a sponge tip on the other end for easy blending around the edges.

Happy 2016!

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year !! Into the first few days of the work and school week of 2016. Didn't get to do a post on my New Year's Party outfit as I was down sick again and did not  get the chance to head out for any parties.... sigh....

As temperatures slowly drop ( it's been a pretty warm Christmas and New Year), here's a look to inspire for those casual weekends or a day out for shopping.

If you had not already known, " burnt orange" is the new trending shade for Winter 2015- 2016. So I decided to bring out the bronze tones with my bronze clutch and brown leather calf high boots.

Keeping the outfit to an earthy bronzy tone - threw on this lighter beige outerwear for a somewhat cooler morning. Kept accessories to golden hues in line with the bronze/ orange tone. This clutch is an old favourite from Aldo. I love how old favourites add something different to new outfits.

As always, I love stacking my bangles and the lovely new circle pendant necklace was a nice gift from ASOS. Simply love them all.

I hope you like this outfit and why don't you try trending Burnt Orange items in your outfit this Winter.

To help inspire you, here are some great buys I found online to add to your closet to start trending.

Merry Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas Everyone!

A short joyful post of my Christmas outfit for Christmas Eve dinner. Recycling old favourites, mix and matching for a whole new outfit!

A warm Christmas this year Hong Kong. Off were the thick coats and jumpers and in with lighter outerwear. Love trending this old favourite lace biker style jacket. Having spent a whole day at Disneyland Hong Kong on 23 December, took this chance to style this lovely jewelry set I got as a Christmas gift from Disney!

Floral Christmas :: Romwe.com Button Down Floral Dress cum Coat + Red Accents

Happy start of the week everyone!

I don't know about you but I had a horrid last week when my laptop crashed and the best part of it all, I did not do a recent backup. URGH.......Was desperately praying that all data would not be lost and had to work on my smartphone and ipad for emails etc... but you guys can imagine how frustrating that it is for me. Especially when all pictures have been uploaded and edited on my laptop!

Thank god for a kind and SMART I.T " angel" who saved my day and "Mr N." as I would like to call him -  managed to retrieve all information on my laptop for me before having to change my whole hard disk.

So here it is, my latest and long overdue post for the kind people at Romwe.com who saw my last post highlighting some of their items. So as I would like to put it - " christmas came early for me" and here is one of the goodies they kindly extended to me for my effort. If you have not read my previous post on them, here it is again ( click here).

The full button down front allows the option of styling this dress as an outerwear for a different look. Although the dress came with a red faux leather belt, however I decided to pair it with my own red and blue elastic belt to cinch in the waist a little better. I do love the cut and the way the dress falls nicely around the waist, though it was a little snug around the upper arms and chest.

I would best advise you to consider 2 sizes up if you are getting this dress simply as it may not totally be true to size. Given I was sent an XL size for this dress when I am usually a regular L size girl and yet finding it a tad snug around the chest.

Was hoping to channel the Duchess of Cambridge " Kate Middleton" with this outfit. I love how she wears those lovely longer coats and matching dresses in many of her engagements. Not forgetting, florals are an IN trend this winter as well so feel free to be as loud as you can with those prints.

Have a great time shopping for the last weeks before Christmas !!

Do it like Victoria :: Grey & White

Oooh..... Finally the cooler weather is coming our way here in Hong Kong.

Chanced upon an online store... yes, again.... ( Look! This month there are lots of shopping to be done and sales happening everywhere so don't blame me for looking....) and saw this dress which looked somewhat similar like the one Victoria Beckham had in her collection a couple of years back.

Naturally it isn't an exact replica but the peek-a-boo white pleating layer at the bottom was quite the catcher for me. To be honest, the dress arrived but was certainly disappointed as it did not look like the pictures put up on the online store and also the ends were a little fraying ( nothing a lil snipping won't help anyways).

I have learnt this lesson many a times with online stores, its always a touch-n-go situation seeing they often post pictures which even isn't of the actual product and secondly the material used can sometimes be quite different from what it is described to be. Let alone the cutting of the dress. But of course, when the pictures look that good, and the price is somewhat reasonable, one tends to always forget past lessons learnt and get caught in the same situation over and over again. Nonetheless, since it's in my hands now, I might as well make something good out of it so here's the look for you.

So, just for your info, this was the grey Victoria Beckham Dress which caught my fancy ( as seen on Cameron Diaz) and the picture below was the picture posted of the dress when I bought it online.

And this was the picture of the item I had been drawn to purchase from.

Have a great weekend ahead and hope all is going well for your holiday preparations!
